Carragher just said that Xavi and Iniesta are the only 2 players he can think of that are on the same level as Silva (in terms of awareness and players of that ilk obviously). That should spice things up in here. ;)

Absolutely brilliant today!

He's our best football player and arguably the best I've ever seen play for City.

He's not as good as Iniesta though. Don't know why that's even an argument. Iniesta has been the best player outside Messi and CRonaldo in the last six or seven years.

Silva is on par if not better than iniesta. Got to remember, iniesta is playing in a barca side who have played togethor since youth level. What you get with silva most times is that it seems he's doing everything by himself for city. He is by far the best player in the premier league. Silva has created the most chances in the league for 4 years running (hope im right there).

You are right with that stat. Juan Mata is the only one anywhere near him and he's still well behind.

The thing is about Iniesta; when I see Silva play as well as he did today and last year at Hull and United, in a Champions League semi-final or final I'd say he's at Iniesta's level, because Iniesta has done that against elite teams in the highest pressure situations. I've only really seen Silva be that good in league games. Iniesta's scored excellent winning goals and won MOTM over Messi in the biggest of games.

I don't even want to knock Silva to be honest. I don't want it to sound like I'm not rating him. I think he's the best player in our team and the Prem.
