Silva's the best player I've ever seen in a City shirt. It's been an absolute privilege to watch him over the last 5 years.

The start of this season was the best form of his career at City. The West Brom away game is the best I've ever seen him, or any other City player for that matter, play.

He's not been at his brilliant best since his return from injury. He was man marked at The Emirates which is difficult for any player. He was outstanding against Sunderland though, and has shown flashes in other games.

He's still getting that sharpness back, and I know every genuine City fan is right behind him to recapture his normal levels and early season form.

But I've noticed on this thread and others we're starting to see the implementation of WUM 3.0: Ship out Silva.

Phase 1.0 was to slate Mancini and to criticise everything he does despite taking us from 10th to Champions in 2 seasons.

Phase 2.0 laud Pellegrini and everything he does despite his glaring limitations.

It would be impossible to try a third phase against Guardiola. The guy is so good, he's going to transform the history of them club, the usual suspects would surely be found out very quickly if they started slating him.

So the obvious next target is our best and most popular player - Silva.

The same people who indulged in phases 1 and 2 are now regularly seen banging the drum to replace Silva. Whether that's replacing him with De Bruyne, Isco or any other flavour of the month shiny new toy.

I just hope genuine blues don't feed the WUMs. Don't even engage in the debate because it's not a genuine one. These wums just desperately crave attention, any attention is better than no attention for them.

I hope Silva stays right at the heart for many seasons to come and goes on to be recognised as the greatest blue of them all. I'd love the East Stand to eventually be named after him. I'm sure the WUMs will end up looking silly, like so many times before.

David Silva olé!

Why can't people accept that Silva has been piss poor in recent weeks? It doesn't make you a bad fan, there's so many on here quick to slate Yaya, Sterling, De Bruyne yet when Silva puts in a turgid performance people make pathetic excuses for him.

Hilarious that people are writing Silva off after a few games when coming back from injury. Zaba was also finished but he played well against leicester so that's quietened down now. Long term servant Vincent Kompany is also a write off apparently .Amazing how short sighted people can be

There's thinking he's currently off the boil then there's flogging him in the summer.

He has had a couple of bad games back from and probably still suffering as it's a chronic injury, jokers writing him off will get a reaction

De Bruyne was probably the worst player on the pitch on Wednesday, we were better when Dave came on, although there are a lot on here who are far too quick to slag all of our players off, some get it worse than others.
