I agree with every single word mate. They will still be talking about him at City games in 50 years time regardless, I know I will if I'm still around. The up and down performances of the last 9 games show you how much we miss him when he's not there. We've had world class players leave before like Tevez, and I fear Yaya may be coming towards the end of his useful time with us, but we move on. It's a horrible thought thinking about who could possibly replace Silva when he's gone though, he's a complete one off.
I think (and I so hope this isn't wishful thinking) he's got at least another 4-5 years at or around his current level.

Different dynamics on so many levels to Yaya.

Silva, more than any other player has delivered us to the promised land and that should never, ever be forgotten.

When he finishes at City it's going to leave a gaping hole in the club.

I think you might be being conservative with 4 or 5 years (I hope!) I tried to think of a player similar to him and thought of Valeron at La Coruna, he still played for them until he was 38, and is still playing now at 40. Giggs was still going at 40 and he's got a similar slight frame and looks after himself, so I really hope we can get 8 years out of him.

Best player ever to play for us, doesn't get the credit he deserves. If he played for you know who, he would be lauded as the best creative midfield player in the world, which I think, at this moment in time, he is. It's unreal that he never gets a mention in teams of the year etc.

Noticed when Gary Neville was asked who was the best player in the Premier League, he replied our Dave and stated he would love him to play for Utd. Instead.

Welcome back, Dave.

David came back up to the box after the game. He was very touched by his welcome back.
He is glad to have had a few minutes to build his confidence with the ankle.
He is training again tomorrow & he will play v Hull.
Hopefully the next bit will make you smile...
we were watching the first half of the Utd game & he punched the air with delight at Vardy's goal and was pissed off with the equaliser on half time... Just like us!

Haha cheers mate, all good to hear. The reception he received when he came on was amazing and shows just how much we all love him.

I loved the cheers and then the groans when he was out warming up and the crowd thought he'd been called back by Manuel to get stripped off ready to come on and then realised it was Fernando who was to come on

I think Merlin is definitely starting to attract a 'Colin Bell' aura now... ...and rightly so.
