I watched him three times last season and he was excellent in two and abysmal in the other.

So far he's mirrored that this week for us.

I hope he's not this erratic all the time.

The older he gets the less mistakes he will make. CB is a tough position to learn and every CB has had a shocker.

He's not "learning it", he's played there professionally for years already?! I'm sure every CB has had a "shocker", the important thing is they shouldn't be having one too often.

For me, it's still a bit worrying that he couldn't get into the French team ahead of that dodgy guy who plays for Liverpool and allegedly, Utd stopped looking at him as they considered him to be a "bomb scare"....

At the level we are aiming for now, we need players who can do it consistently, week in, week out. Brilliant performance at home last weekend against Chelsea is good, today was not. Time to cut the young man some slack though as it is still early doors. Bit of a shame for MDM who has been excellent for months now...

Unfortunately when you bring young players into a new league you're not going to get consistency week in week out, they'll only get that through learning and experience.

Re: Mangala

He will be fine. Many of us expected this.

He is very good when we're at home and his speed can blow up counter attacks. Away, he will have to learn to keep his nerve and position himself better.

Re: Mangala

Mangala - Good game today.

Yes he headed the ball, attempting to get it to safety, but it went into the net.
Yes he stuck his leg out or whatever it was for the penalty, couldn't see it too clear in the away end, but whatever it isn't as though he headbutted an Hull player or something.

Today he was solid, consistently reading the game well and clearing the ball out of danger. sharp player.

Mistakes happen. He just has to learn by them.

Agree but therefore he did not have a good game.

I'll post mine later
