Re: Mangala

Exeter Blue I am here said:
Just watching Sky's game of the day re-run now, and the criticism of Mangala is both gratuitous and ridiculous, particularly from the co-commentator. I don't doubt that the media would love to undermine the lad's confidence by turning him into a figure of fun like they tried to do with Dimichelis; a £32m flop who arrives at tackles in a clown car, from which the doors blow off and out steps Mangler to trip someone up with a size 32 foot. That sort of shit.

Well, we have it within our gift to negate that well versed MO by getting behind the lad, bellowing out his name and not filling forum pages like this with knobhead criticisms about a 22 year old playing only his second game in the most remorseless league in the world. Just sayin' like

Top post.
He will be a top centre back without a doubt.
We need to get behind the lad.

There is not a sportsman in the world that wont have off days such as these,he will have such bad games to in future once in a while but the fact is hes only 23 and can only improve, this horror show would teach him alot and hes got two absolute pros in kompany and demi to learn from so im not worried at all,the only time we could really pass a judgement on him would be after full season with us,there is a reason why every one terms premier league as the best in the world mainly because there are no easy games and he would have learnt that very quickly after hull

Horror show?

He made a couple of boo boo's in a 94 min game, less of the drama please.

it was considering how impeccable he was against Chelsea and Wednesday ,at the end of the day we all want him to suceed so just take it as a opinion mate

Re: Mangala

It wasn't the worst og I've ever seen. His position wasn't right and the slight deflection might not have helped. But I'd rather he went for the ball than left it.

Similarly the penalty was clumsy but I could understand why he tried to play the ball.

Neither mistake viewed in isolation was that bad. Put them together and you get the horror show headlines. It will be interesting to see whether Pellllegrini decides to give him a rest or takes the view that he needs to get straight back on the horse.

Why is everyone so convinced he's class? He has shown pace and strength but precious little else. Two defensive situations today with hardly any trouble in sight and the ball is in the back of our net twice because of him. That ain't good by any standards. He showed the same nervousness on Wednesday night.

This clown for real ?

In comparison.......i agree,he had a stinker, however,to overlook the rest of his input is unfair.

Re: Mangala

the annoying thing about the own goal and penalty , is vinny had both covered , mangala didnt need to get involved , but after a few games alongside the best defender in the world , he will realise this . We need joe back in goals , i am sure he would have given mangala a shout for the own goal , dont believe in rotating keepers , they have to build an understanding with the defenders.

Re: Mangala

He only had one bad game, but that didn't stop people labelling him the black Bobby Moore after one good game! Why don't we just give the lad 6 months before judging him?
