Re: Mangala

The comparisons to DMs first few games do not translate for me. I always knew DM would come good. Saw enough in his performances to see why he was a good fit. So far not seen that much to suggest Mangala will. It is not a case of when he will learn to play within our system, it seems more basic than that. He has yet to pick up the pace of our game and is often in the wrong starting/body position. Some bad habits picked up from playing in a lesser league. He was, however, thoroughly scouted before hand by our team of staff so I have faith he will come good. It is unfortunate that his position is one of the most exposed if mistakes happen. If ever a player need the full support and backing of our fans then it has to be this one....

You mean other than one of the very best debut games I've witnessed along with an excellent game against the Champions elect?

Give it a rest lads.

Agreed. Comparisons with MDM are ridiculous. MDM was an established international, playing at the game's highest levels. He was in the La Liga team of the year in the season before he joined us. He was proven; Eliaquim is not. I cannot understand the reaction to those of us who point out that this guy does not look ready. We all hope he's going to be great for us. Some see greatness in him, others do not. I don't.

I'm sure those in the know recognise his potential, he has all the attributes to make him a great partner to Vinny, speed, heading ability, strength , and is comfortable on the ball, remember when Silva joined? He didn't exactly set the Prem alight in his first season.

Re: Mangala

far too many of the leagues best defenders have looked like shit when first coming over. He simply WILL get better, its that it will, inevitably, take time and a lot of it.

Didn't we rip the Rags a new one when they first signed Evra and Vidic?
