I thought Eliaquim was excellent today; it was probably his best game in a City shirt. He hardly put a foot wrong.

On one occasion, he took the ball deep into 'Castle territory and then, when he was no longer in possession, he sprinted back into position alongside Vinnie.

Eli seems to be settling in very nicely and he is performing on a more consistent basis than earlier in the season.

Hopefully, we will continue to see the real Mangala more and more from now on.

No, his best game by far was his debut against Chelsea when he was fucking amazing in (to be fair) a far more important game. I think MP intends to start MDM against Barcelona, but Mangala has made a good case for himself today. Good luck buddy - keep it up!

I suspect MP intends to stick with Kompany & Mangala now barring injuries, suspension or loss of form.

This from an ITV preview of 'Pool game....................

On the other hand, £40million summer signing Mangala was supposed to be the answer to all the club’s problems – he’s quick, athletic and left-footed, but unfortunately seems to have no idea of what to do on a football pitch. His passing was nigh-on disgraceful, his positioning poor and he made stupid decisions, which cost his side goals. Pellegrini soon lost faith with him, instead preferring Demichelis, who really should have been edged out of the side by now. He has started to improve, but is still not wholeheartedly trusted by Pellegrini.

Would you say he was this bad....

Possibly our best player today; certainly our best defender.

Yes, he made mistakes, but nowhere near as many as the other three.

Eli is improving all the time and although he still has a long way to go to reach the consistently high standard we require, I can see the signs that he is getting there.
