MDM was bought cheap to buy time to acquire and bed in a new long term CB. He has done that well and he should be making way now for the VK - EM partnership to bed in. I would play those two every game now until May unless injury / fatigue are an issue. I’d keep MDM next year as third choice then maybe a coaching role if he wants that.

EM might still have some iffy games but we need to have faith now and allow him to settle in. We have made error’s in the past, buying decent young players and not giving them the chance to step up over a long run in the team.

Spot on. We have to look to the future.

plus 1

Will be awesome

Many will argue that Mangala should be lining up alongside Demi based on form and while there is an argument for that I feel that from now on we just have to say that our centre backs are Kompany and Mangala. It may seem extremely harsh on Demi but put simply he is not the future. If, as seems increasingly likely we are unable to overhaul Chelsea and retain the title then I at least want to us to be in a position at the start of next season where we know who our CB pairing is!

Boateng is the best example. Let s hope Mangala will become at least as good as Boateng.

There's no such thing as a Happy Birthday for a player. They hate birthdays. All his birthday will mean to him will be a tiny ratchet up in the pressure to perform.

I'm so glad so many City fans on here actually see that Mangala has not been a bad player at all for us and his best days are coming. I think the media obsession with him is starting to die down now and he's starting to settle down so he will begin to shine. Besides i dont think hes been surrounded with a lot of support in defence for his first season as Kompany has been a long way from his best as has Zaba.

I honestly see no reason why he can't play every game till the season ends, we shouldn't be playing a 34 year old centre half over a 23 year old who we paid £42m for no matter how good MDM is.

If he and Kompany play together from now till the end hopefully they will get a better understanding week in, week out and be well prepared for next season's start.

£42m ? you forgot to add his wages into the fee , as we all know , when we buy a player , his contract and wages are included . They did this with Tevez and i think the media quoted around £56m for him , so a conservative estimate for mangala at £100k a week for 5 years , is £67m. Cant understand why they dont do this with the rags , for example Falcao would be a £47m fee and £250k a week , which would be £107m , but i have never seen this mentioned.

But less of a coward, hopefully......
