Absolute bullshit. His limited performances so far have been very encouraging. He's not got the natural ability of someone like Yaya granted but he's got more quality than he's given credit for. If he had an "inho" on the end of his name he'd get more credit than he gets from some. You need players like him in the team, especially in games like yesterday. You'd think every City fan would understand that given the role Milner played for us over the last few years.
Good post,Delph combines enough quality with fantastic enthusiasm and desire to make him an automatic choice imo, especially given our other options.

Which in my opinion shows we have regressed. Would he get in bayerns team?

My head hurts trying to make sense of this? It's hardly regression if he's come in and acquitted himself well in the games he's played. It shows that he's more than capable of being a decent squad player. The Bayern reference is just bizarre.

No. That was everyone's go to when we were signing him, practically every other page someone made that comment. That is what is "absolute bullshit".

He's an average player, who wouldn't get a look in if not for him being English and the "for sale" sign Villa put on him. It's signings/deals like Delph's where we pay average money for average players instead of investing properly and thus we're left with "squad players" and suffer in quality.

I'm not sure where all this "Delph's got to start all the time, every time, he's so passionate" stuff comes from, he struggles to pass wind at times. It's worrying he's this shining light people are clinging to, especially as he's played less than two games worth in the league this season; "less than two"... some are easily pleased.

Is he better than yaya at his peak? Or lampard? Or de Yong? Would he get in anyone of the top 6 teams in European midfield? Will he score 5 goals a season! Has he ever? I would suggest no. We should be aiming to have a team in a par with bayern and barca. Signing Fabian Delph does not inspire me. Hope that stops your head hurting a bit! A squad player at best. Like having Paul Dickov in midfield.

How can you turn Delph's enthusiasm and desire into a negative? Some people on here are just dicks. Yeah we all know he's not as naturally talented as Yaya but fucking leave it out. If he wasn't putting the effort in yeah he would deserve a slagging off, you can't knock someone who gives everything he's got every time.

I disagree,i tnink he improves us as he allows us to comfortably play a midfield two giving our chosen front four licence to thrill.Him and Dinho must be amongst the best partnerships around.

Not knocking him - seems a decent lad. Just don't think he is a top drawer player. Hope I am wrong. Will always get behind him while he plays for us. Cheers for the dick reference!

He was bought as a squad player though? I'd say he's better than the Lampard we had towards the end. The notion he's better than a Yaya at his peak is nonsense as there's not many players on the planet who could lay claim to that. He's probably not as good as DeJong either but that still doesn't really matter as Dejong very much bought as a first team player.
I can see him scoring 5 or more goals in a season yes. Likening him to having Dickov in midfield kinda makes the rest of your opinion a bit sketchy to say the least.
My head hurts even more but I'm sure a paracetamol will sort it.
