Yeah it's true. There were at least two times tonight where I confused him with Fernandinho, not purely because of looks but in terms of play.

TV presenters went a step further.....by also.managing to credit Kompany with some of his superb defensive work.
He really made a huge difference to our solidity and play,a beast of a performance.

i thought when he came he would release yaya to the things yaya is brilliant at, there has been signs that this is now happening, we are starting to look great defensive.

Lost count of how many times he broke the game up. Looked really comfortable, and is a definitely a yard quicker.

I actually also think he is better on the ball than we give him credit for, just a lack of confidence. He seems to be slowly but surely playing the ball around more than he did.

great performance from the lad and key to our victory..

the difference from last year is that he has got rid of his fat arse, which has obviously helped his fitness..

he looks much leaner now, simular to when he played for Porto..

Was a fantastic performance from him last night. He's back to full fitness and looking the player we thought we'd signed when he made his debut at Newcastle. He covered ground well and also played some good passes. It's the first time the midfield three of Yaya, Fernandinho and Fernando have looked so good both defensively and in attack. Fernandinho did so much work further up the pitch, knowing Fernando could cover behind. That also allowed Yaya the freedom to find space and pick out passes.

If they continue to play that well and build that relationship it will be hard to break that trio up in away CL games. There's always Silva to come in instead of Yaya but I wouldn't want to see us lose the pace we had on the counter by bringing Silva into the side rather than Sterling/Navas.

Hope Fernando continues this form.

Awesome player at the base of a midfield three.

You can tell he's fully fit now, he said he had a few niggling injuries last season. Looks a yard quicker this season.

Fernando has been great feel a bit sorry for Delph he will be bit part. But I cant fault how well Fernando has done in the games he has played this season he has been key at times. I like the link up with Otamendi and him in the defensive side. They know each other games well. I think we may well see him and Fernandhino being swapped around when Silva comes back. Yaya and Silva may well even have games were each player could well be rested too in my opinion. He will get better and better for us.
