So now they have Frank. The team are training here in January so he will get to know his team mates, they get him match fit, and are still moaning.
I have followed progress in New York for months on the NYCFC forum, often against vitriol because I am not a New York Fan, I am an interested Man City Fan. I can cope with that, FFS I have been a city fan for years and seen it all from different fanbases.

But the some of the arrogant bastards on the NYCFC forum are taking the anti Man City stance to a new level now. The link, is an exchange against a Man City fan from New York.

The Comment

"Let him bask in his transcontinental glory now. In a couple years Manchester will be nothing more than the place Karl Pilkington and United was from"

Comes from a moderator on the site.

This is a link to the whole conversation now going on on the site, and some of it is priceless. Take a moment to look at post 899 on page 45 (another Mod, and this one claims to be a City fan) and 924 on 47...

It is getting to be impossible to be a Man City fan following NYCFC
FFS, a lot of Nycfc fans are not City fans. Generally New Yoekers support foreign clubs across the board. City, Pool, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and Real, Bayern, Barca's etc. they are excited about getting a pro club. Happy it has the same parent as City, but they don't all necessarily like City. Just like there are Melbourne fans who are United fans. Just coz these clubs are linked to City doesn't mean all the fans like City. This is there home town club. They watch, enjoy and or support a wide range of clubs abroad. So sure, you'd find anti City Nyfc fans. That's par for the course. But reading some of the bile here, suggest they are justified.

So rather than do what's best for City in the short term, you, & one or two others, are most concerned about hurting the fellings of a bunch of suppoters of other clubs, who would prefer City to be weaker in the Prem if it came down to it, so that their favourite clubs would be better placed to prosper ?

Them having to wait a couple of months for Lampard, (because that's all it will be), is the most important thing & they are quite right to feel like that, wheras we are out of order for putting OUR club's short term interests & a title run in, before those of rags & scouse supporters etc, who are thinking of becoming NYC supporters when their season starts ?

Re: Frank Lampard

Did no one on here find it odd that guys like say Edelman, a prominent New York real estate lawyer was almost the first guy appointed to the City board?
Is there actually anyone from Manchester on the board?

CFG is a reality, it´s the HQ..The hand of Sheikh Mansour, and you´ll find it on the top floors of the building in the middle that also acts as offices for CFM.
In London that is!

Makes sense to have offices in London.

The main football hub however, is right here, in Manchester.

But if you asked most City fans, I'm sure they would love all the clubs involved to have great success.

This bollocks about Lampard shouldn't evben be an issue though. He isn't more important to them at this point, he is more important to us. As a part of that group, it's MCFC who are in the crucial part of the season not NYC. It's a short term PR inconvenience to them & a possible title decider to us.

When the Sheikh took over City, if we were told he is providing a team full of new players, plus let's say Reus & Iniesta, & backing the future of the club, but we are loaning Reus to his other club, then find Reus is in a title battle at his other club, so we have Iniesta for the start of the season, then Reus joins us, permanently, in October, we would still have been over the fucking moon about it, going from where we were, to where we are. City have been in existence for over a hundred years & we would still have been delighted !

Some of these fuckers are moaning about being handed a football club & a team, because one of the players will arrive a couple of months late & they aren't even supporters of that team yet !

It's just bollocks.

Re: Frank Lampard

Remember they have three designated players, they can't be chopped and changed mid season. So if any designated player misses for three months they can't be replaced by a player of similar quality.

It's a salary capped league, designated players are one of the competitive advantages you have over everyone else.

Would we accept a key player of ours missing the first three months of next season to play in a New York title race?

I doubt it, and we are in the position where we could replace that player with quality for the three months.

I feel sorry for their long term fans, but seen as none have been to more than 0 games and all know the set up from the outset, there can't be any complaints.

Its not about feeling sorry for anyone regardless of how many times people feel the need to point out they havent played yet.

Its about whats best for the club and group now and in the future. NYCFC. We want those supporters that you don't think exist and potential supporters to be more inclined to buy tickets/merchandise etc than the other way around.

If we can do that it will.undoubtedly be good for the group, and MCFC.

Re: Frank Lampard

City winning the league would be better for the 'Group' though wouldn't it?

We would have absolutely accepted a player playing for another club in a title race, if it had happened when we were basically fuck all, & had been bought a full set of players plus given a world cup winning striker & the promise of backing, basically forever.

If Joe Royle had been given that backing, we would not only have accepted it, we would have been fucking dancing in the streets.

That club are nothing compared to where we were, even then, they don't even exist as a team yet, but a bunch of rags & scouse fans etc are moaning about it.

They have fuck all to moan about. They didn't have any players or a club, now they do & they have City backing them. They will soon have Frank Lampard & god knows what else hey will get, via our backing, in the future.

If they are fighting for the title & we pinch Lampard or David Villa or anyone from them, THEN they will be fully entitled to have a damn good moan, but we will absolutely not do that. It would be wrong.

This isn't. Lampard will be finished in this country soon, probably for good, & this is a chance for him to finish his career, perhaps as a champion. All it requires is a few games missing from New York. Aguero will probably miss more games for us. It is a small price & nothing anyone should be moaning about.
