We brought all this shitstorm on us to be fair. The whole communication of this deal is a big mess. End of the day we come out well in terms of the football side of it, given Lampard is still really good and useful, but in terms of PR its awful. For NYCFC/MLS also. For NYCFC fans its also a big dissapointment.

I dot think just because City did profit from Lampard so far in terms of fotball side we shouldnt care that its connected with this shitstorm and only because CFG couldnt be honest right from start. But why we were not honest with it?

Can only think one reason.

Promoting New York City
Meaning that they needed Lampard to promote them, the new club, sells season tickets, shirts etc. So didnt want to say he is signing for Man City and later he gonna be a NYCFC player only. If Man City doesnt need him anymore.
This would contradict a bit the fact he is a big poster boy for them in New York in terms of promoting.

Also pretty logical to think if Lampard wouldnt perform nowhere near the level he did for City maybe he already would have left us.

Anyway we didnt want to be honest at the start of the deal. We just gave ammunition to the very hungry press.

We've made an absolute pigs ear of this deal and our PR has been amateurish.

We deserve all we get with the way we've handled this.

Partly agree with your first sentence, completely disagree with your second.
The only journalists and broadcast media who are making anything of this story are the bottom feeders who need to keep their army of brain dead readers/listeners content. Mocking City is the easy go to for this, regardless of the story, the main aim of the cockroaches is paint us in the worse light possible then sit back and watch as supporters of the old top four lap it up.
I've not seen any credible journo's giving it anymore than the passing story it should be. No rules broken, no punishments to be handed out. Just a bit of bad PR and we move on.

It doesn't matter if those reporting on it are 'bottom feeders' or not. WE GAVE THEM THE STORY with our amateurish handling of the deal. They didn't need to be any sort of feeder..........they were fed.

They are doing their job and are doing it with glee thanks to us.

Dress it up as you like and blame who you want, we've made a shop front of this deal and need to take what's coming.

Thankfully what's coming is Lampard for the rest of the season.....that's how I view it but for those who support City through the eyes of the media, you need to suck this one up. We made a *unt of it.

I agree with the fact we've been amateurish in regards to what's been said by the club. Unlike you though, I don't see it as the big hullabaloo that you obviously do and certainly don't see the need to drag the story on longer than necessary. That's why they're bottomfeeders, stories for the lowest denomitor of the football world. Red top reading, Sky sports watching glory hunting gobshites. They're the only people lapping it up.
Sure they were fed, I said in my post a couple of pages ago that we've given them an open net to knock it in to. Dragging it out and throwing words like "humiliating" and "Disastrous" distort the point though, in the end the story gets lost in the sensationalised headlines that keep these cunts in a job.
So maybe we do have to "take what's coming" though my point is there really shouldn't be much that is coming in the first place.

Where it went wrong is us extending his deal to the end of the season, that is what opened the can of worms, and to be honest did we really need to extend his deal? He would have been with us until the end of February.

I do have a feeling Frank is being used as an FFP dodging experiment a that's what everyone isn't happy with.

We want to be on top of the global tree in terms of revolutionising the way a football club can be run, we have to expect a lot of hate from those who cannot emulate what we can do an potentially achieve.
