Partly agree with your first sentence, completely disagree with your second.
The only journalists and broadcast media who are making anything of this story are the bottom feeders who need to keep their army of brain dead readers/listeners content. Mocking City is the easy go to for this, regardless of the story, the main aim of the cockroaches is paint us in the worse light possible then sit back and watch as supporters of the old top four lap it up.
I've not seen any credible journo's giving it anymore than the passing story it should be. No rules broken, no punishments to be handed out. Just a bit of bad PR and we move on.

It doesn't matter if those reporting on it are 'bottom feeders' or not. WE GAVE THEM THE STORY with our amateurish handling of the deal. They didn't need to be any sort of feeder..........they were fed.

They are doing their job and are doing it with glee thanks to us.

Dress it up as you like and blame who you want, we've made a shop front of this deal and need to take what's coming.

Thankfully what's coming is Lampard for the rest of the season.....that's how I view it but for those who support City through the eyes of the media, you need to suck this one up. We made a *unt of it.

I smell something

After the way we were stitched up with FFP, I just hope that our lawyers have gone over Lampard's contract with more care than our PR people!
I don't want us to retain our title only to see it snatched away on some dubious grounds of fielding an ineligible player because the contract was "iffy".

Not our best week from a PR point of view so we could do with a really good win at Everton.

I am 100% sure that the deal is water tight.

The club will not have made a mistake with that.

I'm happy with the final outcome of all this, Lampard here until the end of the season, but unfortunately some blues' morale is determined by what Ian Ladyman says in the mail so not all will be happy.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

I read an article in the mail today that was a farce. We signed him and he was better than we thought so we have kept him. Everyone else can just fuckoff.

Those that are outraged by this. Good.

Get a petition going.

I always hear our Arab owners/board really cares about how they are perceived by everyone. Then this surely goes for CFG too. And its a big hit of PR for CFG.

It was a huge PR mistake. I dont think there was ever much in it to worth lie about it. What was the possible gain from the the way things were until few days ago? Until it got blown up?

I don't think you will find a blue up and down the country, or indeed in our whole fanbase that isn't made up with the signing and his subsequent performances.
What "some" blues don't enjoy is the likes of Ladyman trying to paint the club in the worst possible light at any given opportunity and dragging a story along for as long as possible to appease the sad cunts who take it all in.

Sanity has broken out at last in the Shed End....

I just get this overwhelming sense of entitlement to Lampard life because he was a legend for us. But he was a legend for us because of what he did, not what we gave him. His status to the fans is only a repayment to his services in Chelsea blue, not a down payment on his life.

So what does Lampard owe Chelsea fans now that he isnt a Chelsea player? Well first let me ask, what did CFC fans do for Lampard that wasnt a result of something he already did for the club? To my knowledge, no one here has done anything for Lampard but treat him like a legend after he acted like one for us. Its not like we gave him a second chance when no one else would. Its not like we supported him through bad years like Torres. It's not like he committed an atrocity or constantly dragged the club through the mud and we supported him when everyone was crying for his blood,

No, we had a pretty much model professional footballer who put out legendary performances for a decade, and we treated him as such after he earned it. How does that equate to him all of a sudden owing us the rest of his career?

To me it's like a marriage where both parties split due to external circumstances that are unavoidable but really no fault of either party. If you are feeling bitter because they suddenly took up with someone you view a rival but is really just another bloke, that's there decision to make. You might be a little resentful, but after 13 years of them being a near perfect partner, if you start treating them like a bad person purely for that, thats on you and not them. That's your character showing, not theirs. That's not cheating, that's moving on from what isn't there anymore. What does remain, or should remain, is the good memories and fondness of what you achieved together. Great times and kids, or trophies in this case.

Quite frankly, in the above context, us fans haven't done much that I know of to make Lampard feel an extra debt to us. We've only supported him the same way he performed for our club, fantastically.

So where does Lampard's current debt to us stem from? Why should he cut short his maximum earning potential because of us? Why should he deny himself the one of this ultimate prizes of his career, a possible 4th BPL title which he would be a key part in winning, for us (and anyone saying a MLS title is even close to equal should keep it to themselves or be ready for a charge of manslaugther when I luagh myself to death)? Another chance at the CL, for us? Move his family halfway across the globe, for us?

If you feel Frank owes you those things, then I hope you were petitioning the club to keep him here at least another year and when that failed, you better of been lobbying for him to get a proper send off via testimonial match......because those are miniscule things to do compared to what is being asked of Lampard. So if you didn't bother, you really also shouldn't be bothering to claim he owes you any more. He's not betrayed you any more than you him, even less so."

There's still some foaming going on though...

"Wouldn't it be ironic if city get docked points due to the erm.... "Questionable" way they have done this, meaning we win the league."

"He's scum? f**k off you pathetic little west ham twat."
