Player topic: Jesus Navas (2014/15)

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

Manuel should have him train on his own, his crossing does need work, however his work rate is exceptional. He often helps to nullify the threat of opposing left backs because he works so hard off the ball.

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

He's a very hard worker no doubt, and his speed and passing makes him a constant threat.

But as soon as he gets in the pen box the opposing goalkeeper can just relax because they know his finishing will be poor. Just need him to aim and shoot every once in a while. God knows the guy has a clear shot several times during a game.

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

infuriating again, near the end of the game today he was through at the edge of the box we had 4 on 4 players in the box praying for a quality ball in and as per usual he doesn't look up and just smacked the ball into the nearest defender and out for a corner,a little look up ffs that's all it takes

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

He's a real asset to the team with his defensive side of play, tracking back, closing down, covering runs...he keeps the ball really well and can set up a great counter attack with his pace.

However, unless it's a through-ball type pass (see his assists for Kun in the Liverpool and Arsenal games earlier in the season) he should be banned from crossing. His crossing is bobbins.

His shooting is poor too but his bloody crossing is infuriating!

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

Continues to frustrate.

Should have been hooked today, not Jovetic.

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

He's got all the attributes except for the one you want, the final ball. Wether it's a pass, cross or shot. If he could he would of cost us 35M.

I do thing he is a superb weapon to have on the bench especially if we are leading a tight game and the opposition are pushing on. He is just not good enough for our first 11 unfortunately.

i honestly think his decision making is more an issue than the final ball. he uses his pace fantastically and then has two or three options and usually chooses the poorest.

if he had Silva's brains....

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

Can't remember a player like him. He is involved in pretty much everything we do, we look far more dangerous down his side than we do down the left but he infuriates the life out of me, it's like he leaves his brain in the changing rooms. His decision making is atrocious. If he could sort that out he would get 10 goals and 20 assists a season in this City side. He gets in far better/more dangerous positions than Nasri but tends to do very little with it. So frustrating.

Re: Jesus Navas, good but.....

He'd have been playing for Real Madrid years ago if he played with courage.
