If it was Darius Vassell or Scott Sinclair being so clearly inept with regards to productivity they'd be savaged on here.

Nothing against Navas personally and he works hard for the team, but if the right-wing mandate is to simply 'put a shift in' I'd rather see the likes of Barker and Ambrose get the valuable minutes under their belt.

Jesus Christ it gets worse

Elaborate how exactly? There are fullbacks in the Premier League who contribute more in the final third than Jesus.

If we'd have given Lopes the first four games of the season ahead of Navas, he'd likely have extended his contract because it'd indicate a meritocratic environment in which young talents will be given a fair crack.

If you're gonna have a winger who doesn't make an impact, it might as well be one with potential to develop into an asset to the club, not someone who's peaked at mediocre.

If you think all people who run fast but have poor end product are Aaron Lennon, then you are fucking clueless about football. His movement, ball retention, link up play, defensive contribution and general play are absolutely miles ahead of Aaron Lennons and he's been an incredibly useful member of our squad. As for the "not CL winning callibre", he's already won the fucking world cup ffs, not to mention that the team being linked with him a Barcelona. Some right numpties on here it seems

This. As much I see KDB's passing and vision as an upgrade, his work rate is nowhere near Navas and there will be games where if KDB plays right side our full back will be completely exposed.

You need a blend of players. Navas brings all out pace to the attack but also work rate and discipline to hold the line on the right side of the field. Yes his crossing / finishing could be better but you don’t play with 11 goal scoring specialists you need some players to do the running.
One reason we had a perceived left side problem last year was we didn’t have a left sided player who put in the kind of performance / effort of a Navas or a Milner.
He’s a great player because he has the discipline alongside the attacking threat.

If we judge him on last season Barca can have him but most judged on last season Vinny and Zab included were mediocre to say the least, this year and season we won the league he is a very useful player.

Can understand people saying not the level we want now but you have to see that too many changes disrupts the team and squad and not many players adapt quickly to the PL so for now I'm in the keep him camp.

Here is a little comparison between Navas,KDB, Nasri & Silva

Navas 29 Years

KDB 24 Years

Games: 110, Goals: 29 , Assists: 43

Nasri 28 Years

Games: 219,
Goals: 38, Assists 42

Silva 29 Years
