looked very good yesterday. Loved some of his tackles but i reckon he could get sent off for some coming in from behind if Mike 'me me' Dean was reffing or clattenburg.

covered kolarov AND mangala when one of their players walked through them and he slid across and blocked the cross
 
Zab was the man, but, in his absence, his mantle has definitely passed to Otamendi. I thought he looked great - completely comfortable with his presence alongside Kompany or MDM. I am afraid that Mangala has proved that he's always got a mistake in him, and I'll always worry about him - just as much of a liability as Savic was, imho.

Thats a little to harsh, savic never settled and cant remember him having a good game in city colors where as he had been excellent till juve game and was much better than kompany last season if not at par
 
Some people are quick to write Mangala off and hale Otamendi. I hope he is great and have nothing to criticise but Mangala has been generally excellent this season his minor mistakes have been heavily punished. Mangala was outstanding in his first match against more testing opponents. It suffered whilst getting used to the premier league.
I hope Otamendi is superb but judgement will have to be made later.
 
Can Otamendi speak English? Doesn't matter to him, he was commanding and composed, seen on numerous occasions, him telling the defence to move up and get in line. He's more aware than Mangala and quite evidently the better player. Mangala still has his place thoig, hopefully he can learn from the 3 older heads in his position.
