Player Topic: Nicolas Otamendi (2015/16)

I have seen him score some excellent headed goals in La Liga. He went so close in the West Ham game with a flicked header that led to a miraculous save by the keeper.

Once he settles in he will be a great asset. I didn't mind the combination of he and Demichelis. Although not the fastest pair of defenders, there was an assuredness about them that comes with maturity and experience.
 
good performance yesterday, at least now when vinny is out we have non major worries, sold player, hard tackle, good vision and passing.. Another MD :-)
 
I thought he had a great game. Very comfortable with the ball and not afraid to bring it forward. Some strong (fair) tackles today also. Hope he gets the opportunity to show more.
 
i thought he was very impressive today. He seemed calmness personified instead of the usual panic stations
 
Must now play ahead of Mangala for me....excellent performance yesterday. Also just seen Mangala's defending again against Moses for their first goal....very very poor.

I thought he started very badly but looked absolutely fine by the end. Of course we have to see what happens when the oppo actually gets a kick, but imo, as a Mangler fan, it's now Otamendi's shirt to lose.

Mangala has started this season in a defence which conceded no goals, so should be sharp as fuck. For him to then show such slow reactions in the last two games, when he should be flying, is a real worry for me. No reason for it, other than he has something missing.
 
First impressions looks awesome. His touch & passing remind me of Lescott as he is so different.

Mangala had to block the first goal, he made no effort at all. If Kompany is fit next week I expect him to start alongside Otamendi
