Re: Sergio Aguero

I think we could be stuck in between a rock and a hard place over the next month, it's clear to see that Aguero needs a break, but that'd mean him not getting a full pre-season in. I can't see a scenario where Aguero will be fit and raring to go for the Newcastle game. Negative I know but meh.

However its handled I don't think anyone should be expecting more than half a season out of him (again). If you give him lots of unattended time off there's a chance he'll just get fat and even more unfit, keep him around and he'll be rushed back during some crisis or another. World cups are notorious for lingering throughout the following season.

I admire your positivity.

I read it as: Kun, could do with a break, however, he doesn't seem like a man whom would benefit when it comes to body weight if he had an extended break.

Clearly the muscles in his legs need a break, but at the same time he probably need a decent pre-season too.

He obviously needs monitoring closely ,he also needs time off but not too much as I think that could also be detrimental.

It is a physically confusing situation and in no way have I conveyed myself correctly.

That's pretty much it. Whatever happens I definitely don't think sending him away for a month to lay about will help. Give him his standard holiday like everyone else then get him under monitoring as soon as possible.

Frustrated watching Argentina's last two matches in a room full of dippers with their constant "what's all the hype about agueros" and "how can people compare him to Suarez" Shite. Unfortunately kun just wasn't fit and played terrible. Said it a few months ago but if we could get a huge fee for him now I'd take it all day long, Torres Mark two for me.

Sometimes I really wonder what some of our fans are drinking. Yes lets sell the best player we have, one of the best players on the planet just because he's struggled with injuries for a few months. I think those dippers have got to you.

To be fair, I suspect he wasn't a particularly hard sell. Slow news day on Sad Cafe........

Agreed. Aguero hasn't been performing because he's not been fit. Torres has a terrible knee injury and was never the same player again, even when he was fully match fit. When Aguero is fit, he still scores shitloads of goals.

You're either a WUM, or a fool.

In fairness mate, the two are by no means mutually exclusive.
To be honest, the forum's idiot quota seems to be increasing exponentially along with our success.

Re: Sergio Aguero

A full pre season is not needed. Most players finish in may and than have about 7/8 weeks off. They require a full pre season to get themselves match fit.

Sergio on the other hand has been training and playing competitive football all summer so although he may be tired he will be pretty much match fit. A 3 week holiday now is not going to put him so out of shape that he needs a full pre season to get match fit.

I expect him to start against Newcastle.

It's a tough one to call as he's not been fully fit for circa 6 months.

He needs a rest but then bringing up to speed nice and slowly.
