Re: Sergio Aguero

I am hoping he is back for Barca-He came back early from his calf so fingers crossed.

I trust Ed,Stef and Alv to continue doing the business Samir coming back soon.

Gutted. Every game we seem to get hampered by a big injury to one of our key players. I know they are two different sorts of player (obviously) but with Nasri already out and now Aguero joining him it's a lot of creativity missing. Our movement, getting into right positions and generally dictating play will be a lot harder without any of those two available.

I think Aguero using the word precaution has made me feel even more dissappointed than I would normally be. I kinda had it in my head that he was ok and might even be available for Monday or failing that the following week. Obviously that's not the case and I shouldn't have got my hopes up!

Monday night is our biggest game of the season yet by an absolute mile and it will be difficult anyway, never mind without Aguero or Nasri.

+1. I had imagined that Sergio would be out for a week or two. A month is different. I must say it seems to me we've been phenomenally unlucky with Sergio's injury situation over the last two seasons. Am I right in thinking that he was out for two fairly extensive lay-offs last season? Am I also right in thinking that he wasn't injured at at in 2011-12, and that he played virtually every PL game? We've just had an incredible injury record this season, with everyone.

Agüero tweeted later that this was a "precaution." But Manuel Pellegrini stated the forward, who has 26 goals in 25 appearances, could be unavailable for four weeks. "Maybe one month but we are not sure now," said the manager, who shrugged off Agüero's absence.

So if he is out for a month I make it that he will miss

Chelsea H
Norwich A
Sunderland H
Chelsea (cup) H
Barca H
Stoke H

We really need this Fernando deal to go through now .....

Norwich, Sunderland and Stoke should be routine if we turn up

If Fernando deal goes through it'll be one up front (Negredo) and extra man in midfield with Fernandihno, Fernando plus Yaya with more of a free role and I think we'll spank Barca ...

In Chelski games we then have the option of playing an extra midfielder or two up front. Dzeko/Negredo or Jovetoic can play as a second striker, either way I see us still doing well - of course would have been better to have Kun of course.... But if we can get through this month without him, the season is starting looking amazing especially with Nasri to come back as well !!!!!

When was the last time he went one up top??
I expect Ed and the beast to start against Chelsea..
Yes against Barca we may opt to pack the midfield however in the league I still think he will stick to his 4-4-2

-- Fri Jan 31, 2014 3:44 pm --

I am hoping it is a Zabbaesque hamstring injury where we fear the worst3-4 weeks but he returns sooner. I think MP has played it very well. Keep the fuckers guessing I say

I remember he got injured at home to Southampton on the first game of the season, a knee injury if I remember and it was due to a challenge by Nathan Clyne their right back. (Accidental btw). Not sure if he picked up another but probably did.

Need him and Nasri back ASAP. Our creativity will take a hit without either being available.

Unfortunately Fernando is cup tied which makes him unavailable for the Barca game.
