Re: Sergio Aguero

Shit news,he was looking brilliant against spurs and was backing him for a hattrick

Hopefully it's not a month but equally want him properly recovered.

Imagine how far in front we'd be if we'd have had kompany, silva and aguero injury free all season

Yes, he pulled up on Wednesday, but walked off (in a bit of discomfort, but not grimacing). I think MP and his staff a working a policy of 'if you feel a twinge, come off NOW, to avoid making it worse. We'll get by'.

I wouldn't put it past him playing against Barca, let alone walking out at Wembley (which will be a month)

But he does it with class :)
But, but, but the Tarquins have a banner saying money can't buy you class.

Not actually too worried about this. We survived a month during a very packed period with no Aguero and no Jovetic, now we have Jovetic back. We should still be able to beat Chelsea, not so sure about Barca though (always possibility he may be back). Glass half full kinda guy :)

We should hopefully get by in the league - albeit the Chelsea game will be a real test without Sergio - but it's the Barcelona game that I think we will miss him, Barcelona are one of the elite teams in world football and are one of the favourites for the European Cup, so to beat them we really need our best XI out.

What Sergio gives us is those runs behind the defence, runs that Silva thrives off, it's just something that I dont think our other strikers offer us and it's those runs that cause defences all sorts of issues.

No, and it won't even get you a ticket there, unless you're absolutely minted. People's game my arse.

Exactly; it'd be stupid to rush him back for the sake of an extra fortnight's recovery time. After all, Edin and the Beast didn't do too shabbily during december, did they? And we might be about to see the best of Jojo.

Wouldn't disagree with that . I think losing Silva and Kompany were major reasons we are not running away with it . Aguero will be a miss but we stlll have the beast .

Kun tweeted it was only precautionary and he only felt a pain and then went off because of it, that means that he hasn't done anything to his hamstring but rather he's felt a twinge and they are no doubt assessing him and getting him into some light training so that it isn't risked further. If you watch the press conference and see how Pellegrini reacts around this, he says he doesn't know, maybe a month... Trust me, Sergio will play against Barcelona.

Apart from Chelsea, we should manage completely fine without him for 2 weeks and then I think he'll be back.

1000% optimism. Duc would love you.

It's prudent to plan for the worst case scenario with injuries and to not be hasty.

He seems to have a hamstring strain (rather than a tear) of some kind. Zabaleta was only out for 2 weeks instead of the 4 weeks which is how it takes for a torn hamstring to recover.

Re: Sergio Aguero

Bad tears take a lot longer than 4 weeks to recover , minor tears are about a 4 week recovery from start to match availability if it heals as it should.

Strains are anywhere from 1 week to 4 weeks.

I would suspect MP was told whether it was a strain or a tear but as he wasn't asked he didn't have to respond and we knew from early in the piece he gives media as little as possible and that includes injuries and the likelihood of length on the sidelines.

I am amazed that the media didn't ask him if it was a strain or a tear to be honest but that's your media for you.

Here in oz we would know the precise nature of the injury such as this within 24 hours of it occurring and the length of time the player would be out for notwithstanding any setback with a fair degree of accuracy.

Like all bat the medico's to some extent I am only speculating but it look more like he strained the hamstring , it could be a bad strain but I think he could be available in two weeks time if it was absolutely necessary.

Anything can happen in any game but other than Chelsea and Barca we should be able to cope if Negredo , Dzeko and Jovetic are fit and well.

Chelsea have had an amazing run with injuries this year as opposed to us , Arsenal , Manure and others who have struggled to get their beast eleven on the park each game.

Only one season ending injury to one player and without Torres for a couple of spells and that's about it.

If you add the total weeks our first eleven have been unavailable vis a vis Chelsea is very skewed.

Injuries especially to key players for a decent spell must impact on the side sooner rather than later.
