Re: Sergio Aguero

yeah i think the media jumped the gun badly, pellegrini clearly says

"maybe 1 month, but we're not sure absolutely now at the moment"

Two weeks max IMO

I have a strong suspicion he will be available in two weeks Ducado but they might rest him a little longer assuming the other three strikers do the business in his absence given what has happened.

We need Aguerro for the final run in that's for sure and two spells in a season is at least one too many.

Remember last time he was laid off we only had two fit strikers so having Jovetic hopefully getting better and fitter and staying injury free from now on till seasons end is a bonus in a way.

It shouldn't be that way but lets face it we have had a shocking run with injuries , hardly a game goes by when we don't lose another players albeit hopefully not serious injuries.

No, we haven't! We've been very lucky! Got all the key decisions, rub of the green etc etc
Christ's sakes, keep up!

I've a little theory that it's because Pellegrini, the excellent psychologist, has gotten the players to exert themselves more than they've ever, on a weekly basis. I remember watching one of the matches on TV and a little stat popped up showing Nasri (of all players) ran over over 2km more than the average player. This probably would have been unprecedented under Bobby tbh.

Just look at how hard Kun was playing. Maybe too hard considering he just returned. I was nervous that he would get injured against Spuds ever since he did that one run at max speed that created the chance in which he hit the bar. And he did. Either the spurs defenders are very slow, or Sergio clocked one of his faster sprints fresh off an injury. Even when Kun was at 100% he's hardly looked thaaat fast to me as he did making that one run. He was going too hard too soon.

Could be the case although the Spurs defenders are renown for being a tad slow (LOL).

I think its fair to say we will take Aguerro's recovery very carefully this time around as we can't afford to have him self inflict another injury in the run in.

-- Sat Feb 01, 2014 8:43 am --

Cheers Arsene, sorry to be so slow again (LOL).

It'd be funny if he was in the starting line-up on Monday. Won't happen , but it'd be funny.

I think if it was matter of having to win the game to get some trophy or a championship he would at least be on the bench.

He is our best frontman by some margain but we have good cover with the remaining three and hopefully they along with our other players who are capable of putting the ball in the net will do so more often than Chelsea do.

Shit news,he was looking brilliant against spurs and was backing him for a hattrick

Hopefully it's not a month but equally want him properly recovered.

Imagine how far in front we'd be if we'd have had kompany, silva and aguero injury free all season
Wouldn't disagree with that . I think losing Silva and Kompany were major reasons we are not running away with it . Aguero will be a miss but we stlll have the beast .

Agree with that, too. I'd actually be much, much more worried about both the Chelsea and Barca games if we had any of Kompany, Yaya and Silva out. And two of those three out? Nightmare! It's interesting that the Phil McNulty article on us mentions that when Sergio went off in the Arsenal match the score was only 2-1. I admit that I had forgotten that.
I suppose it's just that, selfishly, I love watching Sergio play, that's what pisses me off. He has to be one of the two or three most exciting players in world football at present. He is supremely what football is about, what made me fall in love with it all those years ago (just thought: wonder if a comparison with Eusebio is completely out of order?)

Re: Sergio Aguero

I bet there will be a report in the papers in approx 10-14 days....

"Agero gives city a timely boost"...etc etc

Back in training...
