Player topic: Stevan Jovetic (2014/15)

Re: Jovetic

A shocking waste of money. Al flicks, tricks and piss and wind. The end product is woeful.

He's got talent but he won't be able to show it here. Needs far more time on the ball then he'll get in England or in the CL. Even when he has space he has the way of looking rushed in everything he does. Some players look like they have all the time in the world, he could have half the pitch to himself and still find trouble. He over complicates everything he does and it appears that mind and body are never fully in sync.

Offload asap while his reputation in Serie A is still reasonably good as his value is dropping by the minute. We're looking at an £8-10 Mil loss l'd say but I think we just need to swallow it.

Re: Jovetic

quality player but seems he`s just trying too hard at the minute to force things. still delighted he`s part off our squad though as when confidence is high jovetic is a top class player.

Re: Jovetic

When he runs it's like watching Sterling in slow motion. He's not very fast at all but he runs like he thinks he's lightening...his head is turning this way and that but his legs just plod along. Think this lad was once potentially great but got the knee injury a few years back and lost the few yards of pace that made him a threat. Sadly we bought him and he looks knackered

Re: Jovetic

The fact that he is deemed our third striker just says it all really

Doesn't score goals, doesn't create goals, so what does he actually do to warrant a start in a derby and an important CL game?

Re: Jovetic

When we didn't get Falcao some were deluding themselves that Jovetic was a striker and that we already had an embarrassment of riches up front.

"he's a striker, it says so on the OS"

Re: Jovetic

Jovetic never got a chance in Man City. From the start, he is misunderstud as a player. He is not a striker, and Man City's game do not suit him. Man City have no ambition to evolute their game and they will never make the most out of Nasri, Jovetic, Aguero and Silva in top games. Looking at the talent they have, you can say they play antifootball under Pelegrini. You can see it in movement, and support in their best players. All that is giving them good results they had under menagment of Pelegrini is brilliance of their world class players. Jovetic needs to be recognized as first team player, just as Nasri needs to be. Imagine that yesterday City's starting team had Jovetic, Nasri, Aguero and Dzeko. Navas and Milner as good as they are can be very limited. Allso, City need an top playmaking mid to compliment Toure, not Fernando. Imagine Kroos with Toure, or Fabregas with Toure.

Fuck it sure while we are at it lets not play a keeper and stick another playmaker in there aswell.
Joveflick was a good player 5/6 years ago, unfortunately he got a terrible injury and lost that yard or so of pace that made him a potential great player.

Re: Jovetic

Injuries aside, his game isn't suited for his physical abilities. How many times does he have to try those tricks before he realises that

1) He doesn't have the pace to beat a man 1 on 1 and
2) He doesn't have the skill

So he keeps trying to dribble around players who are in good positions, usually giving the ball away and occasionally colliding head on with a defender. Kun doesn't have great pace either, but he knows when to take on his man, and his control is vastly superior. Yaya has both pace and control. Jovetic is not Messi, stop trying to be.
