Player topic: Stevan Jovetic (2014/15)

Re: Jovetic

van Persie was the same at Arsenal but they persisted with the player.

Was he?

At the Rags I agree, but at Arsenal I'd compare his injury record and performance when fit to that of Aguero's.

Kun being the better player by far of course.

Quite a varied amount of injuries.

I'm not wumming because I like it when posters have done what you have done, but all that tells me is the grey haired fuk RVP performed like Aguero did despite the ongoing injuries. Jovetic - as much as I want him to and he shows dimmest signs of it from time to tome - has yet to show he can be close (whilst at City) to what the bed hogging NHS benefit cheat RVP achieved.

Re: Jovetic

No wind up from me neither but Jovetic is still worth persisting with and when fit he is more than useful player who can get us goals.

Aye, this is what I was saying last season, but now I have given up. I do not wish those who still believe to be proved wrong, so hopefully it will all come good.

While it is foolish to completely have blind faith in the player 20 appearances and 7 goals is not bad return for a player who has had a stop start time at City. That is what I am basing my optimism on.

Re: Jovetic

The Bojinov of the Sheikh era.

Great promise but not getting to see it often enough. Said a few weeks ago before Aguero's injury, we can't afford to have 2 injury prone strikers when we've only got 3 on the books. It's come back to bite us on the arse. I think he's a fantastic talent but we need reliability.

Serious question has jovetic ever played a whole ninety minutes for us since hes been here?..maybe the most injury prone player ive ever seen and I really like the lad and hes got massive potential but he cant be relied on.

Three times, the Community Shield and two League Cup matches. City lost the Community Shield and to Newcastle this year and beat Wigan last year. So he has played one competitive match against a Premier League side but it was in the League Cup and City looked awful.

In fairness, he has scored some important goals this season (Liverpool, Sunderland and Swansea) and one last year (Chelsea in the FA Cup). But for 22 million you'd expect a little more.

Re: Jovetic

He could feature for us in the next game as it is just reported as a minor injury, it is quite frustrating to see such a talented player often sidelined due to niggling injuries. His skill for that zaba goal vs Roma was awesome and he has an eye for the goal apart from his wayward shooting. How great an addition would he be if he could stay fit most of the time.
