Everytime he got the ball in a decent position I was hoping he would go on one of his lung busting runs but he never did just like he hasn't done for most of the season, instead he keeps looking to lay it off.

I know Yaya might be heading towards his twilight years but can the decline be so rapid? when this time last year he was running amok in the Prem.

I think Yaya has been immense for City, I'm hoping that maybe 12 months without a rest due to the WC and ACON may have taken it out of him, hopefully with a break over the summer he'll be back to his best for at least one or two seasons more.

Barring his twat of an agent I think Yaya has been one of City's best ever players and always given his all, I would like to think he's to professional to play like this just to anchor for a move which I've also read.

Aaron Ramsey has more Champions League goals for Arsenal than Yaya has for us; only 24 as well, would be a good replacement.

An excellent choice, except for injuries and the fee......

Id be looking at replacing with a different type of midfielder, such as Schneiderlin, and then finding two quality speed merchants to compliment either side of Silva.

I know he was invisible today, but we should keep Yaya as long as we can.
We went out of title race this season when he went to the African Cup.
He's still there by the looks of it,

Alright Aaron calm down, we'll have a word with Txiki

He's too good a player just to offload, especially for the type of pittance we'd get for him.

This very much feels like an AvB/Chelsea situation where they looked at Terry, Cole and Lampard and decided that they were finished because they were past 30. They won the CL after and had some of their best ever season.

Binning Yaya Toure is unthinkable as he's a player of exceptional quality. We just need to use him better in terms of rotations and not play him into the ground every week. A rest every now and again would do him the world of good.

I disagree,i just don't think he has the heart or the legs anymore.....he was a passenger tonight,a liability and bordering on an embarrassment - while play was going on around him,he was literally walking at times........??

We have enjoyed some amazing moments from him but the chapter has ended for me,we need to cash in while he still commands a fee.
There will be no cashing in on Yaya Toure. That window closed over the summer. Like I said many times in the summer, Yaya gave us a gift last season: he engineered his best statistical season in his worst season of actual physical performance. We should have sold him then, as we'd have been the only ones who knew he had declined rapidly. But apparently he fooled even City management and fans. Most of those who wanted him sold only wanted that coz he was being a prick, I might have been the only one who wanted him sold for being on the decline.

But unsurprisingly, ou management again showed no vision or intelligence :(

I feel that yaya has taken us as far as he can go. He has been an amazing player for us and taken us to the next level but his legs are going and the attitude is questionable.

I wonder how many great matches he had for us in CL against tougher opponents. I cant find many. Plzen, Villarreal yeah but those were not the tough opponents.
Napoli, Dortmund, Real, Barca, Bayern were but Yaya was poor against most of them. Also the whole team of course usually.

In CL we cannot accomodate him. We need energetic runners/tacklers/box-to-box type players if we play him. Not just Fernandinho but another one centrally.

A liability tonight, couldn't cope,at least I hope it was that.......Thank fuck Fernandinho was brilliant.

Keep hoping. The biggest thing between last year and this year for me is Yaya. I don't think you lose your legs that quickly....I think it is something else. When was the last time we saw one of those lung busting runs from deep in our half? When was the last time you saw Yaya in our half? I know a lot of folks love the guy. And he is no doubt one of the great CMs of his time. But I think he has played well enough this season for certain teams to come for him this summer while also playing poorly enough that we simply can't afford to keep him in the squad. Obviously all my opinion...we will see this summer.

Is his presence against the better teams,or even those that have worked us out and simply saturate the midfield....... now causing us an issue? I believe it is......as his lack of desire/ability for the dirty work is leaving a gaping hole that exposes his team mates and makes us far too easy to undo.Accomodating him also causes other players to be restricted, taking them away from their natural game......and have less of an influence, during such.

There is still no doubting his ability on the ball but how often is he afforded the space he once occupied and commanded? 451 suits his 'style' far better than the powder puff 442.......but he simply isn't the presence he once was and I really do think he's more a problem than an answer.

Bring in three or four genuine quality, high energy and hungry players that will compliment our existing spine and i have huge belief the team will be far more cohesive and 'together' without him around.
