If you look at the build up to the Barca goal, yaya and nasri are jogging back. Yaya watched the goal scorers run, which was hardly a sprint and made absolutely no effort to track it. Last night was the game to prove one way or another whether he has a future at City. Sadly, I think he hasnt. Thanks for all you have done for the Club Yaya, but next season, we can't afford the luxury of a player that can't or wont work hard and is a liability when we play the better teams.

Completely agree. I've said it before about Yaya - all this talk from people blaming Pellegrini for not playing him further forward - he used to play defensive midfield and played the CL final at centre back. He knows how to defend. The reason he doesn't is because he can't be arsed. He wants to score goals and isn't willing to put in the effort required in midfield. He's won all he ever will as a player - league and cups in Spain and England, the CL with Barca and now the missing piece - the ACON with Ivory Coast. He's done. Generally speaking African players like to do the same as Brazilian ones, make their money win a few things and then live a happy life without having to do too much. The effort is only there when it suits them.

Been said by many but his time was over last summer and we should have cashed in and but for FFP, im sure we would have and replaced.

Txiki fucked up not moving him on imo and this is not knee jerk as he has been one of the greats for us but its as clear as day he is no longer motivated.

He's a fucking disgrace and should never pull on a City shirt again. I'd take Fernando over him every day of the week least the boys fucking tries. Complete mercenary Toure is.

Lost count of the number of goals we've conceded in Europe due to Yaya not tracking his man. Been a great contributor to the club, and will.be remembered fondly always.

But I think we'll be better off when he leaves.

Both of these posts seem to spell it out precisely.

I said it last night, this game was too big, too important to afford ANY passengers, let alone passengers in our most important positions. Unfortunately YaYa and Nasri both took the night off leaving us horribly exposed to the quick passing of Barca. The spaces they allowed one of the best teams on the planet was asking for trouble and only a truly WC showing from Hart prevented us from being a laughing stock.
I feared the worse in the tunnel when the camera panned through and there was this jovial attitude with players laughing and joking. Fuck that, for what was our biggest game of the season I expect the team to be fully focused, concentration levels high. Even when they did the shaking hands on the pitch as they lined up YaYa was laughing as he gave Messi a big hug.
Once the game started it became clear that this was going to be one of his no shows - he should have gone off with Nasri at HT because he was more of a hindrance than anything else. Very disappointed with him.

I've been saying for a long time he's a liability against the top teams when we don't dominate games. His lack off effort when we don't have possession is embarrassing .....

Pellegrini must be absolutely brainless to think he can play Yaya CM vs Barca .... I could only see us accommodating him as a no.10 behind the striker - was really hoping Pellegrini would do something different with two Ferns in CM and Yaya ahead of them ..... Pellegrini is void of ideas!!
