did you witness his non-performance last night? Wake up and smell the coffee, the writing is on the wall.

Do you remember his first 6/7 games every season since he's been here?? Even last season he papered over the cracks because of a few brilliant free kicks/worldies in those 6 or 7 games.... He gets up to speed around 10/11 in, always has, always will..... Those same people write him off time and time again, when will they learn?

take the blinkers off, we've carried him for far too many games . the end game is in sight.

Played well going forward last night. His possession is a thing of beauty and he plays well with Silva. His defensive abilities haven't really changed in the whole time he's been here, so not sure why we have to talk about it after every game. Or is it because the ITV commentators were saying how shit he was playing, so we now all believe that?

Pretty much this.

I've stayed out of the Toure discussion primarily because in the summer I thought he behaved like an absolute **** and should've been sold. Alas FFP put pay to that. However he's slowly getting back into form, he is a majestic player and from a footballing perspective we are incredibly lucky to have him.

Re: Yaya?

I don't think he is playing as bad as people are making out. Yes hes not been brilliant but I cant say anybody has really stood out so far apart from possibly the forwards. If he had scored a couple of free kicks this season people wouldn't be having this conversation.

the evidence of my eyes does not support this view, however much I would wish it to still be the case

Well it's only a temporary measure as whatever happens this season, Yaya will be phased out next summer with young Ross Barkley looking to take his place.

Even Fernando getting fit will make a difference IMO to how we use Yaya. We've been unfortunate with injuries in the last few weeks, and also in the trickiness of our early season fixtures.

Not the first time it's been posted, we should have cashed in on Yaya in the summer.

Big mistake and it'll cost us.

How can we 'cash-in' on a player nobody fucking wanted ?

He's still a great player, the manager is just playing him wrong in Europe. I think its just pure arrogance on Pellegrini's part to think we can just set up exactly the same way against Roma as we do against Hull.

Re: Yaya?

Toure is yesterday's man... Gone... Finished. 50% of the people in the crowd last night would have given more and played better than Toure. I have no time whatsoever for the c**t and wouldn't give a shit if he was bombed out for nothing tomorrow. He looks totally disinterested and serves no purpose other than to put Fernandinho under unnecessary pressure.

Re: Yaya?

It really is frustrating whenever I hear so called expert analasyts constantly having a go at him for his defensive duties. He has never shown any real quality in this department in his time here at City. He really is a gem of a player who has a sublime touch with both feet and can constantly keep the ball moving effortlessly. He always makes himself available for the pass and is at his most dangerous when allowed to go forward. Because we play him in a midfield two alongside Fernandinho everybody immediately assumes he has got to become some defensive 'stop the opposition on every occasion ball winning dynamo' but it's not his game and especially not his game the older he gets. I think the sheer size and prescence of him on a football pitch also makes people think he must be a giant of a defensive midfielder. He's a powerhouse going forward who can find a pass anywhere on the pitch and as we know will weigh in heavily with goals from the midfield. I do wonder if the likes of David Silva and the Glenn Hoddle's of the footballing world were all 6ft plus powerhouses would they also be expected to just become a stopper.

Putting aside Yaya's close season problems he must still be mourning in some capacity and we and the club need to support him fully. I don't think he's been anywhere near as bad as the media or supporters are making out but its fair to say he has yet to reach the standard expected of him and it appears unless he's banging in goals, making 50 yard surging runs or stopping the opposition in their tracks single handedly then he isn't doing his job but I have no doubt he will come again for us and we are a far far better team with him in. I also think the loss of Fernando has impacted on Yaya as I do wonder would this have free'd him a lot more to hurt the opposition where he at his very best.
