Of course, we are incapable of observation or independent thought. That's why it's so gratifying to receive advice from some random internet poster.

You can be sarcastic but a narrative was set by a couple of pundits - mainly Carragher - which was then repeated enough times for it to become accepted fact by not only other pundits and journalists (who I was actually mainly referring to) but our own fans as well.

In the Arsenal analysis Carragher actually blamed Yaya for not marking Ozil for the goal when mangala had just given the ball away. He quite rightly should have been nowhere near Ozil as we had the ball and he can't legislate for us giving it away.

But Carragher uses it to lazily compound the myth that Yaya is lazy and people swallow it hook, line and sinker.

Yaya isn't immune from criticism and he does have his faults but this idea that's he's lazy is just complete and utter bollocks.

Given all he has achieved in his career - that's before we even get onto what he has done for City (and continues to do - see yesterday) - then he deserves a bit more respect than being branded as lazy.

If he's so ineffective when he hasn't got the time or space to play, why play him against anybody half decent?
He isn't ineffective. He still helps us keep possession and have a semblance of control on the game. It is just less obvious than sticking the ball in the top corner. I genuinely can't believe the stick he has routinely taken on here over the years by the body language experts. Even when he was scoring 15-20 a season he was getting slated left right and centre.

You miss the point entirely. Carragher can say what he likes. To say he conditions the views of large numbers of BM posters is both bollox and condescending.

No it isn't. it's quite clear that pundits like Carragher certainly do have an influence on the thinking of the wider football fans as well as City fans on here. Certainly when I hear City "fans" calling him a lazy **** etc etc.

We're talking about a guy who was born in the Ivory Coast in poverty and rose to be one of the best footballers in the world, winning every club honour on earth for Barcelona and the premier league twice, FA cup and league cup for City scoring some of the most important goals in our history. Do you really think it's possible for someone who is lazy to achieve all that? When you stop and think it's absolutely ludicrous.

If you want to call me condescending for calling people out on branding him a "lazy ****" etc then so be it, I can live with it.

When was the last big game or away game we controlled?

Depends on what you call a big game. I thought we controlled the game at Leicester, despite not winning it. We have generally played better with him than without him. Our performance at Stoke should serve as an example of that as would last January when he was at AFCON.

And I would rather try and back my observations with stats :-)

I know you well enough you often have stats back your view. Others however hide behind stats if they speak in their favor. And we both know stats can give a wrong view on things. So do human eyes, cameras and photographs to name a few items for judging situations. Media are masters in this and can easily let people believe what they want them to by using what suits them.

Constant disrespect Yaya gets on here is sickening. He's certainly the best in the Mansour era and arguably the best City player, ever.
