Players made scapegoats and unfairly treated by fans

It could have only happened to that lump though!

Its his performances on the pitch that spoke volumes, less of a fuck he couldnt have given.Reinforced by the completely different player he became after his return home.
To be fair, he was played out of position for pretty much his entire time here - I'm sure I remember his expressing his frustration with that.

Any mention of Alan Kernaghan, used to get dog’s abuse from some the gobshites near me and Tony Vaughan.
Edgehill- I don’t know why he stuck at it for us I am bloody glad he did though.
There’s been loads some bastard that sits near me never shuts up about Raz , he was the same about Yaya called him a dozy wardrobe once!
Aye there’s some who you can only hope are getting their frustrations out at the match . The opposite is those players who have a terrible game and it’s always someone else’s fault. Weird football at times , or fans anyway. I am sure all fanbases are similar.

I bloody love being a City fan, to my bones, but this is the one thing about us that I despise.

Someone asked earlier in the thread if it was upto the players to turn it round like Rodri and Gundogan have but have a look at a match day thread: some cannot wait for the slightest error from their chosen scapegoat just to wield the knife again and often without any justification.
Conversely, some players are teflon, despite a collapse in form. It does not relect well as us.

Edgehill, Dzeko, Kolarov, Gundo and Mahrez.

We have some bitter fans at times, fans who get on the back of a player for no particular reason, yet those same fans have players than can do no wrong.

Back in the day the abuse that Richard Edgehill got was simply disgraceful and totally unacceptable, even more so considering that he was a local kid playing for his club.

When Tony Coton first signed for us, the Andy Dibble fan boys gave him dogs abuse, they could not see the TC was night and day a better keeper that a very average Dibble.

If your game is not working at least try to fight for the ball, run and pass it quicker. But if is not working for you, you are also lazy and keep doing the same thing, keep the ball at your feet until you lose it, than I think the fans are entitled to be upset. I m never upset with their football abilities just with their laziness.

I remember Neil Mcnab playing with a discounted shoulder and getting booed.

Also a City player smashed the ball forward and it hit Gary Megson in the face and the crowd cheered.
McNab should have got his shoulder done properly not at discount rates.
Spell check sends me mad on here.

It was probably worse then back in the day when we were pants. Winning a game was the only thing we ever wanted but losing often to shite teams was prevalent. Kenny Clements, Paul Power, Tommy Booth, Neil McNab, Fitzroy Simpson, Buzzer Jnr, Edgy, Alan Kernaghan, Perry Sucking they all got it often and by many. Today it does happen I think but to a lesser degree which gets noticed more, especially with such high standards?

Paul Power - I remember people cheering when he left, but he ended up with Div 1 winners medal.
Then there were the likes of Eric Nixon, David White, Nabber, Edgehill etc...
Tony Coton, as stated above, got dogs abuse at the start, but the turning point was Leeds in FMC when we lost but he was brilliant in front of a few loyal Blues who made the trip.
Later on there's been Dzeko, Navas, Fernando, Garcia etc...
Mendy and Jesus cop a lot of flack if we lose now.
