I remember Ian Brightwell getting some stick, when he found a main role for us at right back. May have been the tactics of the time, but a signature Bob hoof up the line was guaranteed to lose us possession. Always puzzled me as I'd previously seen him as a free scoring midfielder and he was still probably one of our better players in that period as a defender, certainly one of the most consistent.
Nothing compared to the groans around Maine road when his brother got a start though. Seem to remember he started a derby unexpectedly and there was some right abuse shouted. Oddly I think he went in to be quite a commanding centre back in the lower divisions, something to be said for cutting loose from the pressure maybe.

Bellamy was A top class player.To me Bellamy was similiar to Walsh and Cole, in that I hadnt appreciated how good he was until he signed for us. Bellamy always put a shift in.
Worked his socks off for whoever he played for.
I was slightly embarrassed by the grief

Aye there’s some who you can only hope are getting their frustrations out at the match . The opposite is those players who have a terrible game and it’s always someone else’s fault. Weird football at times , or fans anyway. I am sure all fanbases are similar.
