Players targeted / Leg breaker hack on Sterling and kdb

More likely a combination of genuinely mistimed lunges plus desperation tactics from less talented players. Only a proportion are deliberate IMO.

Whatever their motivation, though, some of the refereeing decisions hardly help.

Spurs and Newcastle could easily have had 3 reds against us. Sum total for the offending tackles: 2 yellows.

cant believe they dropped as many players as they did after a win ,think we are going to see more of this ,where our oppos prioritise their next games ,lets see what palace do.

There is one thing you can be sure of & that is if we had committed the same offence as Kane, Ali & Murphy it would certainly be a red card.

It's the logical conclusion of 15 years of incompetence and outright corruption being passively approved and rewarded.

That's not quite true tho, lol, just ask Raheem about his career ending goal celebration.

Alternative view being that they knew they got away with a bad one, which would have been talked about at half-time amongst the officials, and knew they couldn't do it again.

That was a red card offence, as were the two vs Tottenham. Could argue Otamendi's was too.

Will have to have a look at the Otamendi challenge again as I thought at the time the fall was accentuated by his body position as he was already leaning (eg his weight already on the way down) to make that tremendous clearance. Definite foul but I never thought anything more than that at the time. Agree with the others though.

Kane, Alli and Murphy - all red cards.

Murphy didn't even receive a yellow card for a studs up challenge , midway up Gundogan's leg.
Thats the issue for me. Refs will always miss something but the amount of nailed on yellows and reds oppositions get away with most weeks against us is worrying and cannot be just down to rubbish refs each week. Kicked time and again yesterday but he only warned Fernandinho after a foul.

Lascelles was in the press pre game talking about making it hard for us with lots of fouls. Surely the FA should be doing something about that sort of strategy.

That was Bournemouth's strategy when we played them away. Eddie Howe said it himself in his post match interview
So should refs be more proactive in yellow carding for a team's persistent offending!
