Players who might improve us

I think that Musiala might be open to leaving Bayern and if so he is the one but it won't be in January. He has 19 months left on the contract and at this stage most players that want to stay would have already signed a contract

There are some column inches being filled today with shite about us bidding €180m in January. I don't think too many of us will believe that. But €150m in the summer will get the job done, I reckon. He would be our record signing but he would be worth every penny. I still somehow think he signs a new deal at Bayern though. He supposedly wants a release clause that Bayern are worried we will meet, so they won't give it to him. I'm impressed that he's thus far not caved in to the relentless pressure being applied by Bayern and the German football establishment. It really is unedifying.

United reportedly signing Nuno Mendes from PSG in january. Not saying we should hijack, but certainly the type of player we need to look at. Young, athletic and a world-class ceiling.

He is too fast and a real fullback so we obviously won’t go for him. Need ANOTHER cb. Nah honestly I think the club might go with someone who is PL proven like Robinson or Kerkez if they even care about a new LB.

150/180, doesn't matter to us in the end for a generational talent especially if he has the right attitude and if he is happy to leave Bayern that is a massive plus point for his character. I also very much doubt moving to us will affect his selection for Germany and maybe, just maybe it'll increase his Ballon D'Or chances

PSG selling him and the rags interested. Probably sums his career up so far. We should and will be nowhere near.

To be fair I am of the opinion that their track record of poor signings has more to do with how far behind they are at the training field, and less with the quality and potential their targets posess.

Also Mendes was a huge talent, and it doesn't seem like PSG are pushing him out, but rather with him wanting out from what I can gather.

We need players with a history of production. I don't watch as much football as I did 10 years ago. Frankly I've become a City rather than a football fan. Which is a bit sad. But YouTube helps and more importantly, stat sites help even more.

To that effect, the following are players we should consider... Very seriously

Marton Zubimendi - on YouTube he looks a bit underwhelming. A smaller less expensive Rodri with a bit more aggression. But he is not quite as tidy in his control and ball placement. Also like Todri he is not particularly fast so we have to hope that brain game is close to Rodri's. Small samples suggests yes. Production wise, he and Graveback at Liverpool are 2 of the best CM/DM not around. And he is the best of those not on a top team yet. Extremely well rounded. I will definitely consider him now! A must if possible.
Honorable mention: Ricci

Alex Baena: This is Kevin Debruyne. He is more of a chance creator and chain mover than any of the others. Doesn't mean he is better than them. Just that he creates more. He sees things early and he needs to be on a top team ASAP. And we need a player like this... I'm not waiting for Wirtz or Musiala. Id rather the more productive guy who is easier to get. Honorable mention: Cole Palmer. ( But that's a touchy subject.)

Productive Winger: My long-term wish has been Rodrygo, but going by the state Omar Marmoush is a far better option. Dribbles, creates, and scores at an incredible rate. My only downside is that I don't know his top speed. But he seems faster than Salah who is fast enough and definitely faster than Rodrygo. Obviously, Rodrygo is the honourable mention.. I give him the big club discount. As generally I ignore players on big clubs already. But if we can get them they are more likely to adapt quicker. As they are used to playing against weaker teams.
Well written mate. I can very much relate to being a City fan rather then a football fan haha, and i really like the options of players you've put hopefully we can get some of them!

Is everybody smoking rocks?......we're going to struggle qualifying fer the europa conference league the way we're going!.....not a fuckin prayer he's signing for us anytime soon in my opinion.

Some of you should think about wising up. The way you automatically are dismissive of some players, "No way he should start for us," or "Not good enough," you'd think this was the Centurions or treble winning team. It is not.

The way things are going, we may finish bottom half of the table. Do you think it will automatically be better next year? Do you think players you think are "good enough " will want to join a club that did not even make the Europa League much less the Champions League? Some may, I suspect many would not.

Don't be so automatically dismissive. Some of you lot act like you should be working in football. If you will recall, Rodri got a lot of shit, A LOT, his first season here because he struggled and wasn't good enough.

Yeah people don't seem to understand that it basically took 13 years to build the treble team.

While we aren't completely back to scratch, we are certainly back to building another squad good enough for top 4. There are no guarantees we will ever win back-to-back titles ever again, much less a treble. Even with Pep.
