Policing in the UK

Due process takes time, that's what fuckwits don't understand.

There was a woman on TV today, saying that if a woman is raped today it's 2027 before the matter will come to court. She added that's why many women let it drop, as they don't want to be mithered waiting years for justice because of the trauma. Of course, if the bloke pled guilty, it would be much quicker.

That's how it is, and all the talk of 'two-tier' justice is just a load of bollocks put about by wankers like Farage who want to stir up the mob.
The **** has put out a statement saying they’ve finally charged them because Reform pressured them and pursued a private prosecution

The **** has put out a statement saying they’ve finally charged them because Reform pressured them and pursued a private prosecution
Frank Ferguson, Head of the CPS Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division, said: “Following our review of an incident at Manchester Airport in July 2024, the Crown Prosecution Service has today issued charges against two individuals.

"This was a high-profile incident that attracted significant public interest and media coverage at the time, and we have worked closely from the outset with investigators from the Independent Office for Police Conduct and Greater Manchester Police.

“We have reviewed all the available evidence, including witness statements, video footage, expert reports and other material related to police use of force, to make an independent and objective assessment about whether it is appropriate to present charges for the court to consider.

"Based on a careful consideration of this evidence, we have concluded that two men should be charged with offences including assaults on police officers.

“We have concluded no charges should be brought against any officers. We examined potential offences of actual bodily harm, and common assault, and reviewed expert evidence in the form of an independent report from an expert in the use of police force, to inform this decision.

"We always ensure police training is also taken into account in the context of these decisions, and in this case the combination of evidence, and the expert opinion meant there was no realistic prospect of conviction.

“We acknowledge that in this case as in any other, the strength of feeling has been high. Our specially trained prosecutors are often at the forefront of dealing with high-profile cases subject to intense public and media scrutiny and will always make independent and objective decisions based on all available evidence.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active and each of the defendants has the right to a fair trial.

“It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."

The last paragraph is key, and amateurs trampling around in size 12 boots with speculation is not at all helpful!

Sorry to hear that mate. The timeline is similar to one involving my late father’s ex-neighbour who we all got to know when growing up in the 70s and 80s on the same street as him, and who was a Sunday night drinking partner of my dad’s and a few other blokes for over 40 years. A complaint of historical sexual abuse was made against him by his niece’s daughter in 2020 during Covid. It only got to court in June this year. It got put back a few times - presumably because of a backlog as a result of the pandemic - and he kept gaslighting my dad, his mates, and me that it was bullshit and that he hadn’t done it. He also claimed that it was his niece who had made the allegation and not his niece’s daughter. Anyway, my dad passed away just a couple of weeks before his trial so he never got to find out the real truth about him. He was found guilty and sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. Nowhere near enough for me but I heard that as the offence took place in 1995, it was about a year or so before stricter sentencing came in and if that had been in place at the time of the offence, he would’ve been looking at 10 years inside.

This from today says everything.
1. Copper doing his work alone ends up getting a leathering
2. First instinct of someone watching is to just whip the phone and film it
3. A decent person decides this is not on and helps

That is a rarity, thank god there are still some decent people about. Police do their work by consent, the public is the police and the police are the public. Thats how it works. A decent man him and credit to him

Unfortunately it’s another example of how the Tories broke the country: broke the criminal justice system, the police service, 600 stations closed, pay freezes, tens of thousands of support staff binned plus hundreds of courts closed, massive cuts to cps, probation, youth services, prisons.

And they couldn’t give a damn how it would affect ordinary people’s lives.

I'm just relaying what she had told the police. Something obviously triggered the situation. I know you don't want that to be true but maybe, Just maybe, she was Racially abused.
Which makes it fine for a female Police Officer who had nothing to do with the incident to be on a the receiving end of a kicking?

Bloody hell, in an extremely rare act, common sense has actually prevailed for once. Good to see the scumbags charged and somewhat surprised but very glad to see the officers face no action. The stamp was a bit naughty but was throughly deserved. Was hoping the prick of a lawyer who tried to stir people into a frenzy would face punishment too.
The charges were always going to come, it was only a matter of time. However, there were lots of things to investigate due to the charged trying to use mitigation as a defence.

Now, let’s see justice served.
