Policing in the UK

As in thinking some **** smacks a woman in the face breaking her nose then whining like fuck when he gets a bit of retribution back is brutal.
As in however you want to take it.
The police in this instance, from what I’ve seen went too far.
If it transpired he had good reason and the independent inquiry clear him then I’ll be the first to say fair play.
Until then, the optics and general distrust of certain sections of the force will suffer.

If, and from the selective clip it seems the police officer over reacted then the law will be enforced without doubt. Hopefully the **** who thought a female police officer was ok to use as a punch bag also feels the full weight of law enforcement and spends a couple of years thinking it over.

I’d have no issues with the police using whatever force they felt necessary to get him into the position we see when he’s on the ground, even if it involved a few well directed digs to whatever part of the body was going to hurt.
Once he lay face down though, that’s when I’d expect some degree of professionalism.
Myself, as a bloke who’s had a few altercations throughout life would do what it takes to keep a **** down who’s come after me but I’m not held to the same standards as the Police.

It was said on sky news and you only have to look at his disposition ( muscles frozen) and unable to move.

Muscular function returns within a few seconds and me speculating here I suspect the police were more concerned with stopping the public filming the incident that they lost the window of opportunity to cuff him. His first movement was to raise his head and then we know what followed.
Wrong, they tend to spasm tense, he would be bending backwards if they tasered him.

i'm going to go out on a limb,
probably get slaughtered for it from both directions,
but here goes...

violence is unacceptable in any form.

the only way humankind will survive is if we adopt a pacifistic attitude.

i don't see it happening,
but that's my ten pence worth.

not that it will help my case,
but here's a song from 1982 called tv dinners.
the lyrics go something like this...

violence on t.v., violence on the news
reality and fiction both served up neatly to keep us all amused
reality and fiction have both become the same.
instead of facing the facts we search for new scapegoats to blame.

the time has come to stop sitting back,
say no, we've taken enough of this crap.
violence is unacceptable in any form,
so let's work together to make peace the norm"

the blame lies not within the system.
the blame lies not with the state.
the blame lies not within religion.
we've all learned to love to hate.
it lies within each and every one of us.

a society fed on violent shit,
will go out on the streets and start to re-enact.
fighting, muggings, sexual assaults
become part of the everyday scene.
people acting out what they have seen on the t.v. screen.

the time has come to stop sitting back
say no, we've taken enough of this crap.
violence is unacceptable in any form,
so let's work together to make peace the norm.
