Policing in the UK

Updated information regarding the Airport incident, including the CCTV footage leading up to the video that was widely distributed on social media, for those that have not seen that.

Neither the men who assaulted the police nor the constable that has been suspended come out of a more complete review with any credit. It is alleged that the man that the police originally went to detain (and who was among the two that initially assaulted those officers) had gotten in to an altercation with another man that had allegedly been racially abusing his mother on a flight from Doha that they had just arrived on. It is unclear if the family, the man who had allegedly being abusing the mother, or bystanders/airport staff had called the police regarding the altercation. It is also unclear if the man who was allegedly racially abusing the mother has been identified or detained.

It's also unclear from that article how violent the "altercation" at Starbucks was, and how that was covered in the press briefing, if at all. Pretty important in determining the amount of force necessary to apprehend I would imagine.

At least this guy sounds like a serious lawyer.

The solicitor also alleges the disclosure of the second video to the Manchester Evening News showing the build-up to the kicking incident was a "deliberate attempt to smear the family".
stretching it a bit there!
seeing that dickhead who punched a policeman get three years their arses must be twitching now

the guy tried to get away when stopped by armed police - what did he think was going to happen? and for those that say he was unarmed... how many times do we hear about cars being used as weapons. whilst I understand his family are devastated that he died, it was absolutely the correct result to acquit the officer as far as I'm concerned.

I hear what you are saying and agree, but I have a horrible feeling it's going to kick off ,

Just look at the lads history yet again no angel, the copper has been cleared by a jury of the land, however they aren’t happy so that gives them the excuse to kick off, so they only like the law when it goes for them!
Sounds like a model citizen.

Me too.

Jenrick already stoking it with his police should be above the law tweet.

Social Media can be a **** and I expect it will be in this case.

Hopefully the October/November weather will stop any rioting. No one likes a riot in a rain storm.

Correct.
1) Maybe don’t refuse to leave the car by armed police and do as your told.
2) Maybe don’t drive your car into a police car while trying to escape
3) Maybe don’t get charged in 2018 with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence
4) Maybe don’t get involved with six men conspiring to commit murder and GBH (charges relate to a shooting which took place in Tower Hamletts on 30 August 2022)
5) Maybe, just maybe don’t be a member of 67, a Brixton -based rap group (which one of its members says has been called a criminal gang by the police)
The tit was known by his stagename Madix or Mad Itch

I think we all agree we wouldn’t want this type of tw@t coming home with our daughter.

Glad to hear the policeman has been cleared.

I’m guessing the family are missing a loving son who was an angel and wouldn’t hurt anyone and walked on water. Just fuck off

Think the saying is “live by the sword, die by the sword”

I’m 100% behind our brave police officers

The copper should be given a medal.
