Political relations between UK-EU

So nothing then? And by the lack of replies from the other anti-Brexit spam posters on this thread, they did absolutely nothing neither.

So you’re coming in here moaning about how shit something is that you all did close to fuck all to try and stop happening?!

I would have thought the level of obsession you all have with the continual and repetitive posting tactics on this thread, that you’d have done everything you possibly could have to stop Brexit happening.

But all you all did was vote Remain and moan on Bluemoon for five years, and ongoing.
I don't know if I would be in your target audience for this but the reason I didn't reply is because I think your point lacks merit. I agree it's pretty futile to moan about how Brexit is going, like it's pretty futile to predict a team line up before a match, complain about the presence of particular players, moan through the matchday thread and after if we lose, unless of course you are going to personally contact pep with some advice on how he can set the team up better. If we were to steer clear of futile exercises on bluemoon then all we would have left to post in would be worsleywebs what are you doing this weekend threads. (Which I'm not knocking by the way)

Brexit was a complex issue that most of us, if we're being honest, would say we couldn't fully comprehend, let alone have the time to research in depth and then campaign on, most of us don't have the time, or the inclination, to get so immersed in a subject and campaign about it and I'm sure many of us voted without the full knowledge of how it would end up but with a leaning towards remain or leave that may have had an emotional aspect to it.

Naively or otherwise we tend to rely on "experts" to advise us but when there were such conflicting views about the potential impact of Brexit it's no wonder that most people would have gone with their gut instincts and then leant towards the information that supported that view.

Both sides made pretty definitive statements- the remain side did indeed run a pretty poor campaign and some of their most drastic predictions haven't come true. The leave side for their part made some promises which have been shown to be lies and we see daily stories of those who have or are losing out because of Brexit. The upsides, if and when they come are likely a long way off.

I'm resigned to us being out, I think it's a mistake but see no value in campaigning to return. Does my somewhat passive approach to the referendum in the lead up and since disbar me from having a view and the right to express it? Does it fuck.

We are in the middle of a pandemic, people's mental health is suffering and we're a little stir crazy. Meanwhile Brexit is unravelling before our eyes. Nobody is forced to come on this thread, there are hundreds of others but it is absolutely relevant to post links to stories outlining the actual effects of Brexit, not the perceived or predicted ones. Those who advocated Brexit and remain confident that it is a good idea are free to post alternative views and maybe, just maybe, there might be shift as the good news begins to outweigh the bad. At the moment though the positives you posted elsewhere feel like little more than consolation goals in a 5-1 drubbing.

Neil Hudson is in Parliament as I type this saying that anyone who enters into a trade deal with us, when it comes to food standards, they have to move up to our food standards to trade with us.

The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) placed the UK in third place for food standards. GFSI found the following 10 counties to have the top overall scores for affordability, availability and quality and safety:
1 Singapore
2 Ireland
3 UK
3= USA
5 Netherlands
6 Australia
7 Switzerland
8 Finland
9 Canada
10 France

Another done by the Conference Board of Canada ranked us in fourth in their World Ranking of Food Safety Performance:
1 Singapore
2 Ireland
3 France
4 UK
5 USA

This particular study focused on three major areas, these being:

  • Food safety risk management
  • Food safety risk assessment
  • Food safety risk communication
Just been on the GFSI website and we're 17th. Not sure where you've got your figures. What's more alarming is that we're the only country in the top 17 where the trend is negative.

I’m making a big deal about it because all I see is repetitive negative spamming. I don’t see this as a discussion thread. I see it as a thread of pushing negativity and drowning positivity. Anything and everything from the start point to now (in the thread’s various chapters), that in any way could be deemed as a positive, has been repressed from what I see as a team of spammers.

I pop into this thread maybe once a month, sometimes more frequently, and when I’ve caught up with the posts all I see is that the same tactics are used, the same things are repeated, and I’ve grown so bored of it (and I’m not even in here all that often), I thought it was about time to see what these people actually did about something they’re so extremely opposed to... and it was almost nothing.

And this just cements my view of what the Left have become. The Left was historically a side of politics that were proactive and progressive, now I think literally all they do is moan and try and tell everyone how shit everything is and how shit all our lives are. People scratch their heads at why people switch off from the Left, but that’s the reason.

Dont think this is the right thread or topic for your last paragraph, Brexit is neither left or right wing , there’s supporters and detractors of it on both sides.

Brexit: Just because we enjoy making life that bit more difficult for ourselves.

‘Culture minister Caroline Dineage confirms that as a result of Brexit, musicians and arts touring in the EU "will be required to check domestic immigration and minister rules for each member states in which they wish to tour." That may include a visa or work permit.‘
Where is that Titanic picture?

One way of moving the debate on is to recognise the problems in detail. Then a proper discussion on how they could be resolved. That is more useful than a dry hypothetical discussion about what should have been done. Good programme management is fixing forward not looking back. Until you and others admit and recognise that there are issues this thread will remain in its present intellectual limbo.
Disappointed - are you saying that I gave you more credit than deserved?

Not having that - I am guessing that you actually realise that the answer is that - yes, you could have easily managed this to a smooth transition - but prefer not to admit that

For properly experienced and skilled people it would not even be much of a challenge - and I think that you know that
