Yes - still call them the old name out of habit. The do gooders reduced the sugar content and the name changed at the same time I think. Because of brexit it appears these are no longer available in the UK.
Honestly don’t know what point you are pushing here, regarding Merkel.
Similar policy here in Ireland and from my understanding the AZ vaccine is a major cornerstone of our vaccine rollout, which currently I would be critical of.
But then she's never been to the outlaw capital of the world, Church Lawton. It's a mad argument.
Presumably to take it, Merkel would need to find a doctor who decided to break the regulatory advice and administer it. That would be quite an odd thing for a country's leader to do.
Or perhaps she could look at her countries poor vaccine take up. Look at the latest information that clearly indicates the AZ vaccine is safe and highly effective for people over 65 and publically state that she is happy to take it and that her health regulators should look at the data again and approve its use for the elderly. She is the chancellor afterall. It's a mad argument.

It was a decision taken by Germany, Poland and Switzerland because AZ did not produce enough data to warrant authorisation for over 65’s under the rules of these countries. Japan and the US have also not authorised its use and are running their own trials.
Merkel isn’t going to overrule the German Regulators by taking the vaccine, especially as there are other vaccines available.
This isn‘t an issue. Different countries, different rules. It’s not complicated.
No need to be angry and upset however I see you are still spouting the same nonsense even when numerous people have patiently explained the situation. I even posted the translation of the original German interview where she strongly praised the efficacy of the AZ vaccine before saying she was ineligible for it due to age. This was disingenuously reported in some of the UK press that she refused the AZ jab which no doubt is what you latched on to. Unfortunately that translation was removed by the mods presumably because it was part of a clean up after someone used an abusive term about Merkel. But in spite of all that you're still peddling the same old shite. Not only that but you're now suggesting that the German government interferes with their independent regulator!Good morning chaps, still anrgy and upset

Sometimes there is a bigger picture and I think Merkel has missed it this time. IMO Some of the EU leaders were playing politics with the AZ vaccine a month or two back and now it has backfired spectacularly. They need to take some big positive steps in getting the public back on side. I just saw this as an opportunity missed by her.
This isnt aimed at you, but finally can i just say i only come on here for a bit of light debate. These are just my opinions and I respect the opinions of others even tho i might not always agree with them. I dont see the need to get angry, personal and abuse people, its not that pleasant.
Yes or No? You do inhabit a linear world mate.I know but regardless it was a stupid decision by her.
Do you think AZ should stop supply to warehouses where it isnt being uaed and divert to countries that would be greatful. Yes or no?
The world is full of black and white questions. Its just that it suits fence sitting politicians to not look at it that way. :-)Yes or No? You do inhabit a linear world mate.
I think the EU have been incredibly stupid in this matter, particularly Macron and its no bloody wonder there are reservations about taking the vaccine after what he said. I do think that vaccines are valuable and it would be a tragedy if any were wasted. In the first instance though, the EU needs to get its comms in order and get these vaccines moving. So to answer your linear question, at this stage no. In the near future dependent on the outcome of above, yes.
