That's been a system that has been used since the game started though.

I just can't see Real Madrid who are guaranteed a top 2 placing every year going into a league where they could finish 10th out of 10.

My view though, IP, is that it is all about £'s.

Who would you prefer to see play at COMS on a Saturday afternoon, Wigan or Real Madrid?

Which game do you think would generate the most revenue from day-trippers at our "attractions"?

I just think it is the logical next step.

I'd rather play Everton, Villa, Newcastle, Spurs though than Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter, Barca. The games against the former four has that rivalry that makes football great, the latter four theres no rivalry and never will be with the fans. The atmosphere would be shite aswell as the spanish clubs won't travel if it's a fixture guaranteed every year.

Tolmie, Dyed, I know you have good contacts. I'm guessing you're hearing things too, from your posts.

I'd keep this off the forum if I were you.

Yeah, make it more clique-ie with secret pm's and a handshake - oooh and maybe an "inner circle" ring or necklace..
That's a great idea. We could get blue robes and helmets and call ourselves "The Blue Knights".

I love the whole, "I know something you don't know" stuff.

It really lets everyone know who the movers and shakers are and certainly lets me know that I know shit.

Sorry mate...I get piles of grief for going public with some news earlier this week. You being one of the prime movers if I remember.

Never again.

TBF DD that thread was more to do with peoples opinions about Ireland rather than the validity of your info.

Yea but come on Rammy that's what football is all about. Let's not get too big for our boots

Not at all mate, I just think that it is the way that it is all heading, these guys at the top of all the Champs League clubs don't give a rats arse about anything other than £'s.

I have just had a thought. The stadium could conceivably hold say 70K seated but when some of those seats are converted to standing (as seen in Germany) the capacity could rise by thousands because of the extra room it would create. I reckon I have cracked it.

The stadium (would have to be new) would be built with the ability to be converted to standing when extra capacity is needed/standing is allowed in England. Dortmund's capacity goes up 15K when the seated areas that can be converted are changed to standing.

If ADUG think we'll ever get 100,000, they haven't done their homework. We'd never get that, ever, no matter how succesful we are. Infact we'd struggle to fill plan b, (72k), in my opinion. If they want a bigger stadium make COMS 3 tiers all round and if they want a 'wow' factor, decorate it with tinsel. I can hear the slaggings off from EVERY club in Britain if a 100k stadium was ever announced to be a firm plan.

How about something like this?

Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. Expandable from 80k to 100k with a retracting roof.

That's one serious f*** off tv too.

If they want a wow factor, replicate this stadium with this tele and put half-time porn on for the boys.

If you were sat in the top tier you would need a tv thats size to see whats going on!!!

If there is some secret stadium pm's going round I'm more than happy to exchange your information for information I have concerning someone I saw yesterday at a potentially career altering location near Stretford ;)

ADUG want something iconic, something eye catching that people can affiliate Manchester with.
COMS doesn't provide this, a 100k stadium won't always provide this either, the bigger doesn't always mean the better interms of iconic architecture.

ADUG want the corporates, the people who may not be City fans but want some form of entertainment for themselves and their customers, COMS doesn't provide this at the scale inwhich they want it.

A iconic structure that held 15,000 would look more immense than a building that held 150,000

I'm not saying they wouldn't build a 100k stadium but they'd rather build something under 80,000 that is more eye catching and has immense corporate facilities.

I can see them building something new....
