Post counts

Seems a strange time to do it when the transfer forum is full of wum's

I want them back so i recognise who i am talking to and can form an opinion on new posters and what they post

If you want to protect new posters then explain to them when they join that they can report a poster who is giving them a hard time then you can look into it and decide for yourself mod's

Date joined

I want them back too - rightly or wrongly, post count combined with the join date does give you a view of the posters background (BM psycho, WUM etc)
Can we put this to the vote please rather than an arbitrary dictator type decision based on the whinges of one or two internet oddballs

Not at all. The point is I'm going to be less inclined to reply to posts now as I don't know who I'm replying to. Especially when we're talking about serious/divisive issues to do with City.

For example, if there's someone with 10 posts who is saying "De Bruyne is shit, he's a Chelsea reject, Txiki a **** for trying to sign him", I'd ignore that person. If someone with 10,000 posts posted that, I'd probably have a conversation with them to try and find out why. As things currently stand I'm just going to ignore the posts. Which will mean in the end I'll be posting even less than I currently do.

Absolutely this. If someone's got 10000 posts, it's a safe bet they're a Blue regardless of whether they're talking shit or not. What I don't want to do is waste my time replying to someone, only to find out they're a rag stooge with 12 posts in 3 years to their name. The post count is a very useful, and immediately visible, tool in making that distinction. I understand Ric's irritation/frustration about new posters getting called 'rags' and being put off coming back to the site as a result, and I've called out several in my time (hopefully correctly in the main), but there are so many of them on here with their boring, asinine remarks, what's the alternative? Reporting everyone we have suspicions about to the mods is fine, but it's tiresome to have to do so and in the meantime we've still got the irritating cnuts cluttering up threads

I would have thought you can recognise people better from their user name than post count and surely your opinion would be better formed on the quality of their posts rather then the quantity of posts.

Given you're mates with some of them its hardly surprising to see you sticking up them them at every opportunity.

One of the suggestions was a new user foru

That will go next as a few moan that being new makes them a target.

It doesn't matter if does as well. Judge what someone ha written not when they joined or how many posts they have.

Do you judge the quality of your McDonald's burger by how many stars the "waitress" has? If there never was a post count and someone asked for it to be added they would be quite rightly labelled a dweeb.
