Post counts

Not being funny....(as usual) but MCFC are a different club now and therefore fans forums will attract attention like never before. (And hate)
Post counts matter not a jot as I've seen some proper suss posters with thousands of post counts.

Eventually they slip and let the cat out of the bag. Sad cunts

Lived with it for a few days now and still don't like it and am fed up of checking profiles of posters i don't recognise

Seems to me those who say hi and it's their first posts are getting a fair hearing,i assume you still vet the first few posts anyway?

If we lose today the low count WUMS will appear and go again until our next loss, they are the ones who get the hard time or reported

As i said before caution the regular posters who give new posters a hard time, they will soon stop doing it

You will never get back to the days of a happy and innocent times, that boat has sailed,we now attract fans and WUMS from other clubs in equal measure, that breeds suspicion,if you can't take some negative reactions to your posts then a football forum is not for you

This. If we lose today against Chelsea then it is going to be a fucking nightmare on here with WUMS who have just signed up/have an account just to WUM. I still think the best way forward regarding the very small number of new users getting called a rag was to make a newbie sub forum for all new users to post on. That way people could get to know the new posters and know they are not rags in disguise and the WUMS would get spotted and banned before they could ever get to post on the main forums.

Hi, first time poster here, is the match day thread a safe place to go after a poor display/defeat

I want to defend the admin here. I think it was I that finally tipped the balance in removing post counts. I have mentioned it before but brought to admins attention again recently. i'll be honest I didn't expect such a backlash to their removal. I still though see no reason to have them, perhaps when selling or buying tickets but as you can click on the profile anyway I can't see a problem. I think its fair to say that lower post count members are treated differently that some of the more established posters, that can't go on.we were all "newbies" once. i joined bluemoon in its infancy, well before this version of 2004 and it was a much friendlier, warmer and more humorous place to visit. much more welcoming. that may have been due to the sheer lack of numbers back then, not as many loons, but either way it was just a miles better forum to post on. we did yearn new members but there was no click hunting(there were no advertising done on here back then) we just want the forum to grow and of course survive.Ric, to his credit, he was ever so young back then lol, stuck with it, the members stuck with it, its still the members that make this what it is today, albeit in greater numbers. sadly that then breeds more cunts, not many, maybe one or two but they are here and we have to put up with them. had this my forum they would have long gone, but its not so we move on. this forum has seen off many a pretender, some of the "completion" have fell by the wayside some have evolved from here and some have survived the same journey we have so good luck to them, all that matters is this one stays out in front. we can do that by being what we set out to be, a city forum for city fans who indeed welcome interest from other fans too. lets give all new members the welcome I got all those years ago, be it blues or otherwise. lets trust the mods and admin to wean out the rabble, better still if a plonker or a wum joins and posts just report them, let the mods see whats going on and they will deal with it. don't just slag the poster off, you may just be wrong.
knowing Ric as well as I do he will seek our opinions on this issue and if in the future he feels no benefit from the removal of the post count he'll not hesitate to reverse the decision.

I'd tell you all to fuck off :)
Sorry Ric, I'm voting for Bill for El Presidente.

The point is that you shouldn't be using post count to form an opinion on somebody's post and instead using their post to form an opinion on their post.

To be honest, I'm coming round to it. It's quite refreshing having that sense of anonymous posting back to the forum. Post count still viewable for ticket buying. Perhaps we can even add to this, perhaps a reputation system, not a standard forum rep system for posts, but given for ticket sales. Is that possible? @Damocles @Ric

This site isn't cosy it's huge, there isn't a way to make it "Comfortable" because the numbers don't allow that. Should there be a section only visible to those members who have posted 10,000 posts so that their worries can be eased and they don't have to mix with the general population?

As an Italian I like to get my tickets on loan and pay back with cold pizza over a number of years, I'd prefer it if this was kept off forum :)

My posts are average reading. Since the post counts have gone, so has my abuse. I have been a City fan 50 years, but only a 100 posts over 2 years.

I was in favour of this before it happened and after a few days of it I'm even more in favour of it. There's been less of the boring "rag" posts and slagging off of newer memebers, and, at least to me, there seems to be more new posters prepared to post their opions, particularly in the main and transfer froum. If they all turn out to be wumming tossers or undercover fans from other clubs then I'll admit my opinion is wrong :-)
