Post Match Thread: City vs Spurs

Shocking team moral that no one congratulated Nacho for the equalizer. Shows that all is not well within the squad. Not going to moan about the penalty too much after all we wouldn't be going to Wembley if it wasn't for the Sterling cross fiasco against Everton. Swings and roundabouts and shouldn't be relying on refs. Got a fight now for 4th place. Lets hope we can get back to winning ways soon.

I thought Toure was doing Ok just behind Aguero. At least he can't do damage against us there and is capable of scoring.
Once kelechi came on and he had to go back into the middle, I knew it'd be a matter of time before he got caught in possession or made a stupid pass.

I think it was after their goal we decided to compete properly. For a large part of the game we didn't do enough and unfortunately I'm not expecting much commitment in the future

This is it. We can rightly feel anger at the worst penalty decision anyone will ever see but it should not take that to make the team decide to start playing. Great teams aren't built on good or bad luck. They are built on the sort of effort and commitment we simply don't show until it's nearly too late.

Sterling is not good enough for us and we just have to accept it. People will continue deluding themselves so they can avoid admitting the hard truth that we have wasted 50 million pounds. Most seem to have accepted that we have thrown 40 down the drain with Mangala but can't bring themselves to say what is right in front of their eyes with Sterling. The guy is a speed merchant who always gets out muscled, can't weight a pass and can't beat a man. Just face it, he's bang average.

Let's have that discussion about sterling next season. He was our only attacking threat today.

the penalty is just an excuse, and Pellegrini will love having that as a get out for yet another clueless performance. the simple fact is we were not good enough yet again when it comes to playing the better sides. Spurs were more than comfortable all game without playing particularly well themselves and probably deserved to win by a greater margin. Sterling aside who was utterly woeful, no one individual had a shocker of a game today, even Yaya was good in the first half, it was just an unmotivated display that lacked tempo, and clearly lacked any specific instructions. There was no obvious gameplan and the manager is to blame yet again. I said it after the Sunderland game but we should be thanking our lucky stars United are falling apart too and Chelsea are too far behind otherwise we wouldn't even have champions league football next season.

Looking like we're going to miss out on top 4. Absolutely disgraceful.

To write off 2 seasons where the league has been there for the taking just to get guardiola is a bit pathetic. Missing out on the top 4 is the kick in the teeth Txiki needs for putting everything on getting Guardiola to manage us for 3 seasons.

This season is looking like the worst since we have been taken over.

Only got ourselves to blame. We scored an offside goal last week against Leicester and then today we were on the wrong end of a decision with the penalty.. It always evens itself out.

Pellegrini is a really poor manager. How he has stolen a living for the past 3 years managing is is baffling. Can't wait for this season to be over. Pep has a LOT of work to do.

Well this is a shit start to my day over in Oz, you should have heard Paul Lake on BBC radio Manchester absolutely went mental over the penalty decision and also the many so called offside's in the 2nd half, really got stuck into Stuff-it-up-Burg over his so called refereeing today was very good, we was just so average today we are allowing the teams coming to the Etihad to dictate things, we was better in the 2nd half but hit by a late sucker punch, still its so frustrating to see us lose like that..............

It's Pellegrini who sends the team out week after week in third gear. That's why I want him gone. After the penalty the players were angry and injected tempo. Pep will not allow players to play the first 60 minutes of every game like it's a practice match.

The points you made are correct and on another day we'd have got away with it. But over the course of 38 games we do this far too often. And when are we going to beat a top 6 side?

I'm with you on the tempo of our game as its often far too slow but that's been with this squad under both Bob and now Pellegrini's and is very much the players at fault imo.

We have had years of sides sitting off and allowing us time and possession and have got away with it but they are no longer doing that and we can't adapt and even with Pep here now, we wouldn't do it as this side has run its race.

Ref aside, we came up against athletes and pace and hunger again today and we where found wanting for large parts.

I thought we were much improved, you cant account for such a wank decision......we gave our all,and as painful as the loss is,i don't feel cheated by the players today. Why the fuck Pellers brought Kolarov on though??

If that wasn't due to injury he should resign.

Is it really coincidence how may times Clattenburg has stiffed us ? I think we must have outbid the rags in the 6-1 game, or he misread his instructions. Not even seen any replays & don't need to.

I thought we saw today how the players have been playing within themselves & how they are not performing for the manager. When they woke up, they were a huge level better than Spurs. They could still win this if they play like that. Spurs Arse & Leicester will all fuck up here & there.

But they will need to motivate themselves. Yaya had some good moments in the match but too many times caught off the pace in both directions. A club of City's stature should have a worldbeater or goalscorer in that position, not an old wardrobe.
