When I was in my mid 20’s I had a small part in a porn film.

In 2012 I made a journey from Greenfield (Saddleworth) to Shanghai entirely by rail.
There were 3 of us and we spent a few days in Beijing en route.
On arrival in Beijing I discovered that City were playing Arse in a match in the Birds Nest stadium.
I was the only one of us who took the opportunity to go.
Outside the stadium when I arrived were touts offering ¥1300 {£130) tickets for 10% of face value. So I got a good seat for just over a tenner!
I missed just over 15min of the 1st half but it was still excellent value lol.
PS. (City won 2-0 Otamendi and Zabba iirc).

I was rubbish at cricket, but at school we had a game against another school, one of those 20 over games where everyone apart from the wicket keeper had to bowl two overs. i was the normal wicketkeeper but a recent finger break ruled me out, so I bowled my two overs. At the other end was a kid, a year younger than me, called Ian Botham. He hit me for 16 off the first four balls and then went for the big one, and got caught on the boundary. Yes it was that Ian Botham, and later I used to play football with him in my hometown, Yeovil, before he was recruited by Somerset CCC.

Parents were so cruel. My bedroom was unheated. My clothes were hand me downs. I had to eat what I was given. Luckily Barnados rescued me from such abuse to live happily in a children’s home.

I was nominated for best performance under pressure by a new comer at the annual award ceremony but ultimately lost out to a Steve Buschemi look alike who was sporting a fantastic, needlepoint pillow case that was hand woven by his mother who was Amish.
