just to explain...

my uncle dennis was in the r.a.f.
he lost a leg and got a cushy job at filton airport in bristol,
which is where the concordes were serviced.

we used to visit him regularly in my youth.
they had to do a test-flight before reintroducing them,
a big anticlockwise supersonic circle over france, the north sea, scotland and back round.

over the years i was onboard countless times for the test-flights,
had the run of the plane, including the cockpit (and the lavatory)
no passengers of course,
just the pilot, co-pilot and that other fella who sits behind them measuring stuff.

security back then wasn't what it is nowadays.
My dad was asked to insure a warehouse under the test flight path. The sonic boom kept shattering the roof. Dont know if he ever got the job but I doubt it.
