They placed 2nd in the CL. They were CL finalists last season. They were vice-champions. Take your pick, they all mean the same thing.
Perhaps it's a linguistic thing - in Italian the team that places 2nd is always referred to as vice-champions. In which case, apologies, English isn't my first language.
No worries chief, I wish I were that competent in a second language!
We prefer the term 'runner-up'; let's keep the word 'champions' away from losers.
