Premier League Games 26/27/28 Dec "22

They weren’t a main rival when we sold them. They haven’t finished in the top four for six years on the spin.

You have to sell players to bring new players in. We shipped out two squad players and replaced them with Haaland and Alverez. And still made a profit. I doubt there’s a City fan alive who would change that.

You can’t pick and choose where players go when you sell them. There isn’t a big pile of shit clubs, who have no chance of ever being a threat to us, with £75 million to spend on our fringe players. Even ignoring the fact the players wouldn’t want to go to such clubs.
I’m alive (I think), and I for one would change that.

Even though they weren’t established rivals at that point it doesn’t matter, they had potential. Selling a club like that two of our first team squad to a team who already has a managers schooled in the arts of the Pep way was a bad call. Having those 3 elements in their dressing room at the same time is too much of an advantage for them in terms of copying the mentality, tactics, mindset, whatever, of what Pep does here and spreading it around their entire team.

If they both needed selling, absolutely fine, but not both to Arteta’s team. An own goal, as it’s in one swoop handed them a massive advantage imho (even if they don’t go on and win it this year).

You’d go back to having Jesus and Zinchenko instead of Haaland and Alverez?

Who are these clubs with no potential to be a threat, who have the funds and the appeal to attract players, who we should be doing business with?

Sell them but not to that lot - the cunts who wrote the infamous letter..
The 80m won't mean shit if we're empty handed at the end of the season
Money burning a hole yet our LB situation is farcical
Maybe just a case of all good things coming to an end as far as league concerned - 3 in row would have been nice but can't see it now.
We are proven winners so who knows. Need another 12/13 winning run but looking at the fixtures next 6 weeks simply don't see it
Lol it's December.

I’m not a director of football mate, so I’m not even gonna attempt to answer that.

No, I wasn’t saying don’t sell them both. My point was really simple; sell them both by all means, as it meant improving our team, but only sell one of them to Arsenal.

Eg weren’t West Ham in for Zin? Like I say, how am I supposed to know that kind of info about all these other clubs? Let’s put it this way mate, you aren’t telling me that the agents of those two talented players could not find another single club across the whole of Europe interested in paying for one of them apart from Arsenal? Even if one of them went for slightly less wonga it would have been better than what’s transpired.

I'm not sure to be honest
I would have love to have kept Jesus for sure and have 3 strikers in the squad, to.ship 2 out to Arsenal, for me anyway looks as if we have just given them a big helping hand to the title. I know Jesus is out at the moment.
The irony is Haaland and Alvarez could rack up 70 odd goals between them and we could finish 2nd or even 3rd. We haven't played well for a while now.

We've rarely put a foot wrong with the transfer decisions the last few years but I now question the decisions of Jesus and Zinch.
