Premier League or Champions League?

What do you want us to win more?

If we were 10 points off the leaders and it was Chelsea who were going to win the league then I would say the Champions League should become the priority.

However, given that it's Liverpool and we're neck and neck, beating them to the title is all I care about now. If we win the league and nothing else I'll be ecstatic with this season.

As long as Liverpool don't win the Champions League then I honestly wouldn't be that arsed if they won the FA Cup as we'd still have had the better season.

Never understand those who trot out the absurd cliche that winning the CL takes the club to another level. Does it heck. Didn’t do it for Chelsea didn’t do it for Porto. Your level is your level and it doesn’t come from one cup win, which in Chelsea’s case came when they were probably not even in the top ten teams in Europe in 2012.

Your level comes from what you do every game week in week out for season after season. That’s why we’re one of the world’s top clubs now and a CL win would only be adding a small cherry on to an already magnificent cake.

It would be an extremely big cherry mate, whatever you tell yourself.

The reason Chelsea's CL winning teams are not rated highly is because they failed in the domestic league. Liverpool won the CL missing out on the league by 1 point, then came back and won the league. Guess what, they are considered one of the best in the world right now.

Whatever the size of the cherry it doesn’t make much difference to our situation. We’re at such a high point now that although small percentage increases in revenue and brand awareness and (questionably) prestige will always be welcome they won’t bring about any tangible changes to the club.

We’ve attracted and retained the services of some of the best managers and players in the world for a decade now despite never having won the CL, winning it won’t change anything in that regard.
