Real Madrid Played 7 teams in the champions league and lost to 4 of them. 4 different teams.
We lost 3 games in 38 to Win the Premier league. Anyone who thinks the Champions League is harder to win is talking absolute bollocks.

That's the nature of the competition. A European away game is really tough to win. Pep's Barca, the greatest club of all time had a terrible record in European knockout away games.

Regardless of the number of games, the competition for the PL was only ever between City, Liverpool and Chelsea, and towards the end just between City and Liverpool. Real Madrid defeated all 3 PL sides over 180 minutes to win the CL. That's harder.

How can it be harder to win if you can lose to 57% of the teams you face and still win it. We lost to 2 teams across 3 times as many games.

Fantastic achievement by Real Madrid, but luck played a massive part repeat those games 100 times and they wouldn't win it again, they were the lesser team in all 7 knockout ties.

I think it is akin to being paid weekly and every week you have a blue envelope with 10k and a green envelope with 5k to choose from. Every week you pick the blue envelope and get paid 10k. One week your boss says there are no blue envelopes left so you get the green One at 5k. You would much rather the blue one but it isn’t exactly a bad weeks pay so you are still happy with 5k. The Premier League is the 10k and the champs is the 5k. Until you are offered both the same week you take the blue (PL) one every time

Because you need to beat those same teams that have beaten you in the return leg by a bigger margin. Yes, Real Madrid were not the favourites in any of the knockout ties, and that is another reason why it's a harder challenge. Even teams that are not better on paper can come up with strategies and an almighty fight to overcome the best teams, because of the prestige the competition carries. We've had so many examples ourselves like Lyon, Spurs, Chelsea etc. who played way beyond their capabilities.
