Prices for the away leg in Madrid SOLD OUT.

Question was asked at PSG (Two of our group had no tickets) would it be possible later on to come bak and pick up any no shows. We were told no
Why on earth would the club sell the tickets to City fans who have travelled out when they can just tear them up and leave the seats empty?

Exactly. There's always going to be somebody that can't make it for whatever reason despite having committed to paying for a ticket and travel. An unintended consequence of this new system is that those that can't make the game can't offload their ticket to another fan and at least recoup some of their outlay. Your proposal for working round this is a good one because some fans will still travel without tickets and there could be some mileage in incorporating it into the ticket collection process.
I asked the club about this in Paris and was equivocally told no way.

I know it's madness
Which is why the club should have consulted with the fans to make it workable and equitable for all.
However the club are not really interested in fans getting into the game, only that the ones are there are 'known' to them in advance

heard it all now - forgive.

Get real.

You've taken that word way too literally. The point was, just because the vast majority do it, it doesn't make it fair and something we should just accept. Nobody is blaming anybody for doing it but surely you can see this new system is a hell of a lot fairer for everyone. Only the ones that miss out either through point whoring or buying from a point whore seem to have a problem with it

There will be tickets in Madrid out of 3600 there are bound to be a number of no shows. unless you are the designated person for that ticket then it will not be issued to anyone. Why not have a waiting list in Madrid for people who have a buying history who have traveled and are prepared to wait till the last minute to pick up any spares?

You'll always get no-shows everywhere though for whatever reason.I don't think this system is going to drastically increase the amount of no-shows, it will probably reduce it if anything as near enough everybody that is able to buy a ticket is going to make sure they're there as best they can . Sure a few might miss out due to last minute unforeseen circumstances but that number is going to be minute

There are a lot bigger issues going on in the World at the moment, and security is more important than upsetting a few fans, of course the Club would rather see as many fans in the ground as possible, they aren't the ones pulling the strings !

Fucking hell mate - you make it sound like helping a mate out with a ticket every now and then (as opposed to full on blatant points whoring) is akin to murdering someone. Just wind it in for fuck's sake! I wouldn't mind but you even followed that up in another post by saying that you would be prepared to help long-standing blues out so why the hell you're claiming the moral high ground on this is beyond me.

Look, this new system is what it is and if it's the way the club is going for all future European aways then that's fair enough - ultimately it is a fairer way of doing it but openly criticising fans for helping mates out with tickets in the past is out of order because I doubt there isn't a fan out there that wouldn't do it.

Wrong. Helping a mate out is certainly not on a par with murder but whether someone abuses the system once or repeatedly it is still abusing the system and leaving others at a disadvantage.

You must take more care when reading posts, in the post to which you refer I said:

" I have never bought a ticket to let another supporter use but if I had to do so then you are the type of Blue I would give it to (in reference to another poster other than yourself),"

The clue is in the words "If I had to do so".

As it happens, I haven't and I wouldn't.

You are right in one thing though, a lot of people would help out a mate to the detriment of another "long standing Blue" as you put it, and as I have stated before, it is understandable. It STILL however doesn't make it acceptable.

One thing that's for certain is that you will carry on trying to justify the manipulation of the system albeit on an ad hoc basis and I will carry on claiming the moral high ground.

On a side note, your expletives add nothing to your posts, I can tell from your replies that you are better than that.

I I didn't realise that the ticket office had become the UN and Lisa the Secretary General, my apologies I thought we were still a football club with customers that need serving?

Serious question - have you actually got any mates?

Do you really think it is there idea to have fans queue in PAris or Madrid to collect tickets...
