PSG Away Ticket details - Update now 2,200 tickets available

It is a good sign of our support spreading - it must be all those JCL's in Dubai etc joining for the 'free' tickets or whatever dirty tricks we are supposed to play on the Great and Good.
It's great that fans, particularly in far-flung places like Norwich, the West Country, the North-East etc, have a group that gives their support a focus. But anyone with an internet connection or phone can buy tickets these days.

I can understand why it was convenient for the club in the old days, when you had to visit the ticket office or write in, to send a block of tickets out together. When I interviewed Cyril Mintz he told me about writing to the club asking for a ticket to an away game at Burnley and they sent him 20. But there's little excuse for it now.

As East Level 2 pointed out, we have a Friends & Family system these days so it's really not difficult for members of Supporters clubs to order whatever tickets they want, wherever they want them. And given the arguments on this thread, whether anyone likes it or not, I can certainly see the benefit of a system that ensures that tickets for away games that are heavily in demand only end up in the hands of the people entitled to those tickets and who have bought them.

'people entitled'? Now that is more contentious that the matches you refer to.

As regards your other post, why is there so much animosity led by the PTB on this site to the Supporters Club? We are all blues together, yet we consistently see this 'bluer than you' attitude which often causes hostility for no good reason.

Yes there is a fair bit of populist rhetoric that could turn Blues against each other!

The real issue for the PSG away game is why have we not secured our full allocation of tickets - if demand is so great. Maybe the Club have not lobbied too hard because they know that is the size of the following we to took to Juventus and Rome.

Entitled as in they have the required points. I really don't see, whatever the faults of the loyalty points system, that anyone could argue with that.

You talk about the "party line" or the views of the Powers That Be. I can assure you that other than upholding the rules of the forum (and we even disagree on that in some cases) there is no party line or PTB view on this or any other subject. Squirtyflower and me are just posters who don't like the system. Others on the moderating team choose to keep their opinions on the subject to themselves, should they even have one on the subject.

And let's re-iterate that I don't believe anyone has a problem with supporters clubs per se just the notion that they should be part of a ticketing system that allows tickets to go to people who aren't entitled to them by the fact they have the points. If we're going to do that then let's just have a ballot system like most other big club do.

The thing that led me to to the whole SC/FB/BM business of tickets qualification, allocation AND onward disposal were the comments of the a club official at the SC who was responding to the complaints made by fans about away fans in both the COC and CL matches who get into home sections. There are various reasons for this but one thing he did say was that the Borussia officials were astounded to see the allocation we gave them and said they could have taken up 10000. I get the impression the club do not lobby hard enough for seats at times. Villa in the cup for one whern there were loads of empty seats just to the left of us. The initial allocation for Paris was paltry.

'fair bit of populist rhetoric' - a lovely euphemism
