Family friend got out of hospital Friday and Tony Book came to see him at home (childhood mates). I asked TB what he thought about the recent managers. He said of Mancini he was "the most arrogant man I've ever met, but a born winner". On Pellers he said "the most humble, charming down to earth bloke in the world". BUT he said Pellegrini "was a gonner". Whether thats his personal view or that of the club is unclear. I think it was his personal assessment but there does appear to be something not right

It all boils down to supporting a winner or a loser.
Out of our past and current managers Mancini is head and shoulders above when it comes to winning.
Mancini two trophies at City, Pellegrini two trophies at City. Head and shoulders?

That's a really stupid comment. The only thing that stopped Mancini from winning more here was the people above him letting the players run the show. Same thing now. What do you think Mancini would do about the laziness? Some of our "stars" wouldn't even make the sub bench right now. Do you even remember the air tight defense that Pellegrini has seemingly worked to destroy? Watching this team is grueling these days. WWe need a manager who knows how to switch up tactics to counterother teams game plans, knows how to motivate and most importantly, HAS A F**KING SPINE.

We are definitely poor when oppositions counter attack and a shambles in positioning too often.

Look at QPR's first goal yesterday.

It was sheer embarrassment and we seem to be doing nothing to prevent it from happening time and time again.

Whether thats down to the players or poor feedback from MP I don't know.

Probably a little of both but we don't seem to be getting the message across during the week.

They may talk about it but what are they doing about it.

Terrible performance, but could have been worse. I think there was some fight, and we were a little less predictable in attack. All the other problems continued.

The only thing Pellegrini has got right recently was naming confidence as the problem. It's not motivation to place a pass, or make a decision. I see split second of doubts everywhere. I think this comes from Pellegrini hanging the back four out to dry time after time with bad tactics that had obviously been figured out by every single opponent. From there it spreads. I actually admire the players tonight - it was so bad at points I wouldn't have been able to carry on.

Pellegrini's made further mistakes; today's line-up was very badly judged. Silva injured in a game he shouldn't have played, Kompany injured because he had to play on after the team lost their heads, and Pellegrini followed suit, blowing his three subs far too early.

We are in big trouble and best hope the break clears a few heads. The premier league is still alive but we would need to find a level of consistency higher than ever before. Last year we played ok, most of the time, with amazing little spells in matches. We were poor against top teams but beat the others consistently. Now the baseline has dropped, and the good spells are five to ten minutes long at most. Compared to our last defence it's actually worse - we only really blew that season when Yaya, Kompany and Aguero missed a load of games at the same time. We still had shape and discipline to fall back on, it was inspiration that lacked. Now we are just playing end to end games every week, and, Sergio apart, just can't bring our quality to bear. Everyone has a chance against us.

I firmly am against the 'scrap the squad and start again' argument. Some players need to move and there is a lot of fine tuning to do, we lack complementary players, but I still believe we have our strongest squad ever. We have to begin again in terms of team work and tactics. Maybe not with all new systems, but with a fresh approach, and an emphasis on basic cohesion, and not getting drawn into free for alls and scraps that even the odds for weaker teams.

I've lost all faith in MP. He will not change. He came in riding the coat tails of Mancini and all his hard work straightening out the players, mainly the defense. He threw some flair on top of what was already embedded in the players and did well for a couple years. Let's be honest, we could all see the defense slowly unraveling last season. Now we're seeing it for what it really is, non-existent, and MP doesn't know how to fix it.

Oh dear is this the same mancini that wouldn't take yaya off or took back tevez and backed balo every week!

Under new stewardship then?

january is now our biggest window since the takeover. we stutter along till then and try to stay in the top 3. if thats the case then we can buy correctly and kick on from there. fanny and the season is over.

We are in a shocking position going forward. As well as FFP, we are sat once again with a manager who is not going to be here for much longer and far too many players just not good enough. Its all good and well throwing money at transfer windows but its who we buy and who gets the final say on players.

The boardroom needs to sit down this week and sort out our strategy as a club going forward because we cant keep buying shit like we are doing and expecting a coach to work miracles with them.

Nobody decent enough will come to City in January, the best players will still be in the CL (well most of them will ;o) ).

I wouldn't waste a penny in January, because if these players can't improve under MP, then he'll be gone in the summer, and the new guy will probably want whole scale changes (which I think are required anyway). Leave it till summer, hope we improve, or write this season off apart from the FA Cup.

I actually doubt with our current form in europe that the best players will come here anyway, we've already seen a number say no, and our current european form will be setting off alarm bells with most of the best. Time for a rethink, look at up coming talent (20-25 year olds), and build a new team around a few of the regulars, even if it takes a couple of seasons, we can still qualify for the CL (essential) and maybe improve our form in it.

i really cant be arsed reading all the negative shite on this thread , today we played an in from QPR side who chelsea really struggled to beat at home and had to rely on a dodgy penalty to beat them
These are the facts
We showed fight and commitment and if some of our so called supporters showed similiar commitment and got behind the team , instead of stabbing them in the back at every opportunity with there whining , moaning , whinging posts on here , our club might just make a fist of defending our title. The point we gained today just might win us the title .

This all day long. Too many spoilt brats on here who can only revert to whinging when things are not going to well.
