So who's on thin ice?

Or you giving up explaining that after you made a tit of yourself earlier?

yes I made a tit of myself earlier, but that doesnt negate the fact that I was somewhat dismayed at the general tenor of several posts in this thread that informed us its OK to abuse someone based on nationality, and then refute the accusation of bigotry. And your response was to say 'wipe your fanny'.

While the person in question is undoubtedly an idiot, calling someone an 'Argie/Irish ****' is not racism. Twattism, yes, but not racism.
No,it's racism.

No,it isn't,as neither the Argentines or the Irish are a race.

Rendering the thread redundant.

Thank you and goodnight.

To be honest mate the thread was redundant the minute the title was typed out. Talk about stating the bleeding obvious.

Not really.

Public Order Act 1986 - part3: section 18 - prohibits, by its Part 3, expressions of racial hatred, which is defined as hatred against a group of persons by reason of the group's colour, race, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origins.

So since 1986 'racism' now encompasses more than just 'race' but also nationality, and national origin.

The guy in question can call Tevez or Balotell lots of names, but when he chooses to bring nationality or colour into his rants he could by law since 1986 be escorted from the ground.

Again for those saying 'my friend calls me this and that,' the law takes into account the context of which things are said. So if terms are used between mates, or used as friendly banter then there is no issue.
